Iconic London

Cabs, double decker buses, little old ladies wearing furcoats on a warm sunny day.

Pretty facades and ridiculously complicated rainwater pipes.

Pretty amazing architectural details, gorgeous plant arrangements, traffic lights for equestrians.

 Bright azaleas.

June 3rd is Queen Elizabeth's 60th jubilee. The city was decked out.

This is the window of Hamleys, a big toy store.
She is made from legos!
Yes!

A shop and a sign with highly dubious text  :P
Got a giggle out of me.

Red phone boxes.

The tube.
And for those people who complain that nobody ever talks in public transportation in Finland... there's nobody talking on the tube at 8 in the morning on a Monday either ;)
Men in suits eating breakfast, women on their iPads.. I nearly giggled when the guy in a pinstripe suit in front of me took out his phone and started playing Angry Birds. Finland's gift to the world :D

 Shopping.

The wings that took us there and back again.

And that concludes my photo posts from London.
Four days there and eleven blog posts.
Hah, who knew!

It's all about the food, right?

Our breakfast cafĂ© on the corner.
 Literally.. by name and location.
*grin*

Our lunch place at Covent Garden.

We ate here the first evening.
Loved how it is so common for locals to go out to eat regularly.
It was fun to see the regulars being greeted and accomodated :)
Good food too!

My brother and I went for a drink one night.
The girls were really bummed they weren't allowed to stay...

My brother recommended this place and we ended up eating there twice as the girls loved it.
I have to admit, the best burgers I've ever had.
If you are in London, go!
Byron at Earls Court, run by some very nice Italians :D

I'm normally not too keen on milk shakes, but decided to try it.
Oh my.
You know a good milk shake when the straw is still standing after you've devoured half of it.
Next time I'm in London, I'm having another :)

Portobello Road

One of those places you need to breathe in.

Yes, they were walking each other :)

..mmmhh... Banksy puts in a bit more effort...

My advice:
skip breakfast and head to the food market.
Unlike us... I wish we had known about that!
Then walk up one side and down the other.
Reward yourself with a nice mocha frapuccino.
