Anything you fancy?

I always love taking my camera with me to the Habitare exhibit.
A few things caught my eye, but really only one I wanted to take home.
Or two.

light.

The first was that cube light fixture.
the hanging light next to it is made of cardboard, very cool.

The second was this hanging light.. melted plastic that made it look like frost.
Which was its name.

Repurposing is big even in the desing world.

the lamp is made from baby food jar lids!

sheets from men's dress shirts.

the chair is quite ugly, but I like the fabric.

I'll take one, thanks.

seriously. pantone chairs.

a nice leather couch?
Nope, inflatable :)

really? why?
a old fashioned phone bit to hook up to your smart phone.

does it come filled?
pretty please?

make-over for old rocking chairs:
fingerprint style...

..or give it the Dexter-effect..

OK, so I had three things I wanted.
This is the third.
*swoon*

However hubby thinks I should rather go for this..
I say I'll go for character over sound quality, thanksverymuch  :D

no höh.

Ja muutama pieni ärräpää siihen päälle vielä.

Valitettavasti Stadi Scräpit loppuvat tällä erää.
Koulun johtokunta on asettanut tilojen käytölle tuntitaksat (kympin tunti) ja koska tuolloin hinta olisi aika kohtuuton, tein päätöksen näiden tilojen käytön päättymisestä.

Megaharmitus.
:(

Containers in pastel

I popped back to Suvilahti with my friend last week to see a design exhibit.
It was ok.
Nothing mind blowing.
However as a photographer it was fun.

How can you not love pastel colored containers?
At least through a viewfinder ;)

The one thing I did really like were the flags sewn from Marimekko fabrics.

And reflections in puddles.

Some have qualms about the Design Capital year.
However I'm baffled how they managed to spell "design" wrong with all the signs and flags around declaring it to all :P

Best laid plans and all that jazz...

 It was a great idea.
It really was.
And thrifty to boot.
I have these ugly pillars in one of the clubrooms that I wanted to do something to.
I thought I'd masquerade one as a tree, it would brighten up the whole room.

So I bought old sheets at the thrift shop, dyed and ripped.

And braided...

..and braided..

Wound the braids around the pillar and discovered I'd need more.. OK. Once I had a bit of time.

 Or maybe not.
huh.
These little 1st grade monkeys really thought climbing up the tree trunk was an option.
 It's all falling down.
I'll be taking it off on Monday.
Hmmpphh..

Any ideas for endless coils of braid?
*grin*
