Would you like ice with that?

This afternoon about 2.30 it got dark.
Real dark.

There was lightning and thunder.
Right on top of us.

Then...

I could have just stuck my drink outside the window...
..clink..clinkety..clink..

Glad I cut these peonies into my vase yesterday, they would have been ruined in the storm.
They look pretty in my livingroom.

It's been cool.
And wet.
Can you tell?

..sigh...

May flowers

I love these.
So much.
I need twenty more...

The prettiest blue...

Plum tree in bloom.

Apple blossom buds.

Entwined.

Blue and white forget-me-nots.

One of my alltime favorites.
Amazing that Mother Nature made this checkered bloom.

Wild blueberries.

Blue and pink forget-me-nots :)
These grow like weeds.

The apple tree blossomed.

Still so lovely...

Can you spot what's wrong with this photo?

Maybe that dandelion I hadn't weeded yet?
You'd be right.
It's gone now though.

Tomorrow I'll get those June photos up.
They are still in my camera.

I've been building some wizard furniture and trying to build an orrery (google it, fun things) while watching Band of Brothers.
Enjoying a midsummer week Wednesday.
That just turned into Thursday.

Good night.

Summer, so far...

* Niina used one rainy morning to make a play park out of paper :)

* We had some old friends by and the kids got into water balloons...

* The miniature market was good fun!
Here's our table all set up with my two helpers two minutes before the doors opened.

In fact the market was so much fun, I decided to attend another one in late July.

* My brother turned 30 last Saturday.
Oh, yeah.. he's old...
We got him an action digital videocamera (why is it still a videocamera if there is no video...) that attaches onto his helmet or bike handlebars. He's a bit for the action sports...

*At said party my sister-in-law's father got enthusiastic chess students.

* Don't you love that orange wall?!?

* It's been cool and wet...

* So I've entertained myself by diving into the miniature world.

Mary's kitchen finally got curtains.

And I have something wizardy inspired by Harry Potter brewing.
More photos here.

* I have scrapped some. In fact I got a nice box of new photos yesterday :)
You can view my latest page here.

* Time to head out into the rain and get my hair done.
When I get back I will (yes yes I truly will) type out May and June garden photos.

Let's talk scrappy

Since I do still scrap.
Oh yes I do.

I admit lately it has just been the AMLT assignments.
I'm glad for those, because I'm not sure if I would have scrapped that much this spring without the deadlines looming.

Not sure if you've used my sidebar to view these already.. although I do hope you have checked them out at my AMLT gallery.. ;)

My pages for last month:

The Bucket List assignment, inspired by the movie of the same name. In other words what are some of the things you want to do/achieve before kicking the bucket.

This was an extra page where I used the trash left over from a practically medieval sheet of Pebbles Inc stickers...

Oooh... punches were required for this assignment. I punched flowers, then scrunched them. Addded beads for bling too. I notice I have a hard time not adding any bling to a page...

Another extra page. My room in 1974. The photos were taken during my 5th birthday party. Memories of toys long gone and some still tucked away.
This month's work has gone up at AMLT, do go check out our gallery.
Here a a few teasers:

Sadly we've had a few girls resign from the team this spring. I do wish them all well, I know I'll miss them terribly....
I don't think it will take too long for a DT call to go up.
Just as a hint.
AMLT is also launching a blog in the very near future!
Exiting times.
I'm quite looking forward to that new aspect.
And talking about scrappy blogs... this is more to my Finnish readers.
A new Finnish scrap challenge blog has appeared on the scene. I added the link to my sidebar last week.
Inspiroidu. Be inspired.
We have a new challenge every Friday, all participants are entered into a drawing for a prize.
This week's prize is sponsored by Fiskars, if you are in need of a new shiny paper cutter... go check out the challenge and start scrapping!
My first challenge is going up this Friday.
Be ready.
It will be fun.

This & that

* Sometimes tomorrow means two days from now... sigh.

* There is something so lovely about the sweet summer breeze on your skin on your first day of vacation. Even if it overcast today. Still so lovely. And even lovelier was opening one eye when Mika got up this morning and simply turning on my other side and closing it again...aaahhh...

* Niina has started sleepwalking some nights. Sigh. I thought one zombie child was enough. The other night she got up and was walking in circles in the upstairs hall saying "Mom, help me." She obviously really needed to pee, so I took her to the bathroom, sat her on the toilet and gave her paper. Then told her to go back to bed and came downstairs. Two minutes later we hear Saara calling that Niina is on her bed...

Saara had woken up to the commotion, was sitting up and for some reason Niina had taken the opportunity of going into the wrong room, wrong bed and fallen asleep. Meanwhile Saara is sitting there with this "my little sister stole by bed" look on her face.

It was too funny.

* I bought new gardening gloves:

Happy polkadots.

* The shovel that was missing last summer is still missing. What are the odds of that...? Now I really do have to go buy a new one. Because these bushes need to come out:

I dislike them. They look sloppy.

They'll be replaced by this:

I'll get you a more detailed garden report sometime this week. I have loads of photos...

* This is what happens when three girls are on a sleepover and they get into the make up.

*I will show you my favorite tulips this spring:

Love them. Period.

* Did I mention I'm enjoying sleeping in?

* Niina graduated Kindergarten, snif... she's so big.

She got an outstanding report card!

* Saara also got a fantastic report card! Really pleased with these girls.

* I bought a new bowl.

Just because it was pretty. You need to do that every once in a while. Good for your soul.

* I updated my scrapbanner on the sidebar. It'll now house the latest 10 pages I've made.

* I got the most beautiful bouquet from the 1st graders' parents. And a giftcard :)

* Someone enjoying the morning kiddie programs on tv.

* And we did indeed finish our sushi bar project by the contest's Memorial Day deadline.

We are now open for business.

* This week I'm preparing for the June 7th Lahti minimarket I'll be attending as a seller. Here's a preview of what the table will look like.

Kinda. Sorta.

I still have a whole bunch of stuff to finish, there's a lot of table to cover with itty bitty items.

I will show more photos of the items later this week.

* Not all work this week however. I am fitting in a few visits from friends. And laundry. Since that isn't work but relaxation in my book.

* Blogger is messing with my fonts... and I can't fix it...aaarrgghhhhhh!!!

Deep breaths....

* Now how are all of you?

How has your June started off? Tell me something, go ahead... I'm listening... ummm.. reading :)
