Happy Easter!

A week ago on Palm Sunday we had one little Easter witch doing her rounds wishing neighbors a prosperous and healthy year and getting her wages in chocolate eggs :)

Cute, eh?

So this poor blog is neglected.
I do have time at work during my lunchbreak to write something, but alas the school computer has settings that deny me access to blogger.
Sigh.

You'll have to just bear with my sporadic posts.

Yesterday my bro and SIL came over for dinner.
I got out my trusty Jamie's Italy cookbook (that's Jamie Oliver, his recipes never fail) and as this mix looked soooo yummy, got out the camera too...

A mix of butter, sage, garlic, proschiutto, dried apricots, salt and pepper.

That mix was creamed together with a mixer/chopper thingy and stuffed into the pockets I made in these porkchops.

Mmmm...mmm..mmmmmmm.....
It was delicious.

The chops were fried and put on top of this potato, garlic, proschiutto mix (this is before it had been in the oven already).

And as we were all so very hungry and waiting for the food to be ready we dug in.
I realized later that I forgot to take a photo of the ready dish.
You'll have to just imagine it.
It was fabulous.

This is the extent of my Easter decorations this year.

The twigs we got from passing witches and one little chickie.
What can I say, I've been a bit busy.

Doing what?
Well... I've decided to go sell miniatures I've made at a miniature market in Lahti on June 7th.

This is what my desk has looked like all Easter weekend.
Crafting while watching the figureskating world championships :)

Making little things like these:

And these:

And that's just for starters.

Nothing much going on here otherwise.
Picked up my new passport, so I'm all set for the camp school trip to England in May.
We got snow last night... totally depressing.
The school board approved my position for next year as well.

I think that's about it.
For now.

New favorite artist

Her name is Lisa Rinnevuo.
Her art is so cool.
There is just no other word for it.
Cool.

Oh funky is a good word too...
What do you think?

Views from Stockholm

Over the weekend the girls and I (plus a few other people) took a trip to check out the Stockholm miniature fair. We visited there last spring and this might become our little tradition.
You'll find more photos of the minis here.

A few photos of the old town center, Gamla Stan:

The girls with two of Saara's classmates.
We ate waffles and some awesome raspberry pie in this cool Art Cafe.

Loved their candy dispensers...
Niina liked this store:
I really liked this squirrel/bat blanket.

I want this store in Helsinki.
Pure inspiration.

A home/clothes store with a house florist...
Gotta love that.
Our ride.
That's four people's mini shopping :)
And Niina's new sleepy bear Lotta.

While we were gone spring really hit town.
It was so lovely on Tuesday.
Walking with no hat, no gloves, coat open and the wind blowing knots in my hair.
And relishing the fact that I was wearing no hat, needed no gloves, could keep my coat open and have the wind blowing knots in my hair.
Pure bliss.

The bits of green in my day

Yes, green is my favorite color.

And exactly this shade of green.
That's my favorite cardigan.

These have kept me warm all "winter".

My daily calendar.

The lamp upstairs.
It has a picture of the leaf of a lily in the valley on it.

It hangs above a green couch that used to be my grandmother's.
Who knows.. maybe this green thing is genetic?

Ummm.. yes.. I chose my toothpaste completely based on color.

The pearl bracelet I bought for my bro's wedding.

And my fave Moomin character mug.
On a green napkin.

The napkin and this candle + plate were my birthday gift chosen by Niina.
Based on Mom's favorite color.
I've tought them well :)

Happy pincushion.

Guest towels...

And most important of all, my bag.
Holds all I need at work.

Have a happy spring green day!

PS. It's still flipping snowing here.... sigh.
