Hi Where did you download it, on the TORCS-Site we have just an old 1.2.4 version? The 1.2.4 Version was built for PPC and requires Rosetta, which was stipped out of Mac OS X in version 10.9 or 10.8, so this cannot work anymore on newer versions of Mac OS X. Here you can find a quick and dirty guide to build TORCS 1.3.6 on Mac OS X: http://www.berniw.org/trb/forum/showthread.php?topicid=3968 (5th post in the thread or so). Kind regards Bernhard On 09/03/2015 10:56 PM, Ryan Dougherty wrote: > Hello, > > I downloaded the 1.3.3 installation .dmg of TORCS on my machine, and > installed everything correctly. Hi I think the SCR interface is a normal bot, so the normal configuration applies, see: http://www.berniw.org/tutorials/robot/torcs/robot/ch2/multiple1.html According the scr manual the bot is called scr_server, so find scr_server.xml in the installation and edit the names there. If the scr_server bot does not read the names from the XML (e.g. they could be hardcoded into it), then you might need to modify the sources too (to get the name from the XML). Hi, in the context of a University Programming Course we conduct a TORCS project. The students are developing SCR clients in Java. Is there any way to change the names of the drivers in TORCS? I figured how we can replace the texture rgb file, so that each car looks individually. But still the driver names are displayed as “scr_server_x”. Is there any way to adjust this? Any XML File to edit? Best regards, Till ------------------------------------------------------------ Dipl. Inf. Hello, I downloaded the 1.3.3 installation .dmg of TORCS on my machine, and installed everything correctly. However, nothing appeared when I tried to run TORCS (the app icon appears and immediately closes). What I tried to do was to look in Console, but nothing appeared that seemed evident of why the app does this, but nothing helped. I then repaired permissions using Disk Utility, but nothing. Next, I tried to run the app itself directly in Terminal, and I get this: utoadmins-mbp:Applications redoughe$ open torcs.app LSOpenURLsWithRole() failed with error -10810 for the file /Applications/torcs.app. This seemed strange, so I tried to run the binary file inside Resources directly: utoadmins-mbp:Applications redoughe$ ./torcs.app/Contents/Resources/torcs-bin -bash: ./torcs.app/Contents/Resources/torcs-bin: Bad CPU type in executable So it seems there is a problem with the CPU - however, I am running a MacBook Pro Late 2011 which has an Intel chip: Darwin utoadmins-mbp.mobile.asu.edu 14.5.0 Darwin Kernel Version 14.5.0: Wed Jul 29 02:26:53 PDT 2015; root:xnu-2782.40.9~1/RELEASE_X86_64 x86_64 So I’m not sure how to progress further. Any help is appreciated!
