Hi Csongor, As far as I know, this feature won't be implemented very soon. Have a look at "Speed Dreams", they will have a network feature, but not too soon, either. Till xmas is impossible I think. Speed Dreams isn't released yet and the network play won't be ready for the first release I think. spe...@li... is the adress for this question. cheers, Sebastian Am Mittwoch, den 25.11.2009, 21:04 +0100 schrieb Halmai Csongi bacsi: > Hi everybody, > > I am new to this mailing list so it can occur that I should ask this > question not here but somewhere else. Hi everybody, I am new to this mailing list so it can occur that I should ask this question not here but somewhere else. In this case please tell me the proper address. Well, I would like to know the future of Torcs. When will the network game feature be implemented? I would like to give my brother a wheel for christmas and it would be nice to fight each other by evenings. Since he lives quite far from me the network feature is very needed. Is it possible that till xmas this feature will be ready? Or if it is scheduled later then what is it's date? Thanks for Your answer, Csongor |

http://keithcu.com/wiki/index.php/TORCS_robot_driving is quite nice as well. I'd even like to see more links like this posted in this thread if someone is willing. -- Heath Matlock +1 256 274 4225 |

Is there a listing of robots that are freely available somewhere on the on the web? So far, I've found the following robot tutorials: http://www.berniw.org/torcs/robot/robot.html http://www.wdbee.gotdns.org:8086/ http://sites.google.com/site/torcscreations/drivers and I found http://usuarios.lycos.es/f1torcs/ though from what I can tell, it allows you to create cars.. which might be useful, but I'm looking for robots and their code. I'd really like a listing of the features, i.e. what is coded into them, and in what robot that specific set of code is from. Are there planned features that haven't been implemented? I noticed in some online videos that universities have participated, they are generally open in sharing, is there a listing of what universities participated in which event, and contact information would be helpful. I'm looking into simulating my own autonomous car before building my own physical implementation. Best Regards. -- Heath Matlock +1 256 274 4225 |

For the record "Best" Video Rendering Mode hasnt worked since the Days of Ubuntu Hardy(6.xx) and still doesnt to this day... The problem is not GLX in the drivers, its the GLUT rendering mode, its code has not been fixed since 'TORCS' was created(from ORCS). To fix it, you would have to ask the Dev. to fix the rendering mode, to render the texturemapping Correctly on OpenGL =>2.x. Otherwise, it will never be fixed. I should say the Devs. are too busy focused on including Networking Capability in Torcs (they should just use the BSD tcp.so and just have it open a TCP-port and broadcast to the network. then just have the client's listen for the broadcasts or specify a ip:port. the TCP/IP stack is already setup to handle this type of framework... and as far as how to handle client/client races... just have the secondary client connect, have the hosting server ask the client the car /car.xml. if it exists ask if the crc is the same of the files in the folder, else have it send in plain-text a copy of the xml. if a texture has been changed, have it transfer the file using tftp built into the client, and store the car.xml/textures in a temp folder.) if you want better rendering and quality, take a look at the source yourself and see if you can fix it... if i knew /c/c++/glut i would fix it myself... but its not my area of experience... nepal google wrote: > > On Mon, 12 Oct 2009 14:20:34 +0200 > Enrico Mattea <oci...@vi...> wrote: > >> Hi, try to set video mode to compatible, because with best mode it >> seems to always have that problem. >> Cheers, >> Ocirne > > ****************THANKYOU********************* > > I just tried this on the long spring track and it worked perfectly, now > I have a new toy again.
