But a manual build, python setup.py clean only remove the python 2.3 build dirs. Doh! Of course. I always test from the CVS version, so I'm "used" to there
being an old prebuilt ccivil.so module. Ok, that's easy enough to fix,
just a clean before building the package.

I found the problem, the civil archive wrongly contains already build files
for python 2.2:
[guillomovitch@klama guillomovitch]$ tar tzf civil_0.82-2.tar.gz | grep
map/los
civil/src/map/los/
civil/src/map/los/CVS/
civil/src/map/los/CVS/Root
civil/src/map/los/CVS/Repository
civil/src/map/los/CVS/Entries
civil/src/map/los/build/
civil/src/map/los/build/temp.linux-i686-2.2/
civil/src/map/los/build/temp.linux-i686-2.2/ccivil.o
civil/src/map/los/build/lib.linux-i686-2.2/
civil/src/map/los/build/lib.linux-i686-2.2/ccivil.so
civil/src/map/los/.cvsignore
civil/src/map/los/__init__.py
civil/src/map/los/ccivil.c
civil/src/map/los/setup.py
civil/src/map/los/dist/
civil/src/map/los/dist/ccivil-1.0.linux-i686.tar.gz
civil/src/map/los/ccivil.so
It seems that some make distclean has been forgotten before producing the
tarball...
Just cleaning the build directory is ok to build, and make the Makefile.in
patch useless.

site-packages is AFAIK meant for stuff that can be used by other stuff
too. ccivil.so would only be used by Civil, nobody else uses it, so I
think keeping it among our other code is maybe better.

Ah, yeah, SourceForge CVS has been a major pain lately. I don't really
know what we could do to make it work better, it's all in the hands of the
SF support people. If there was a similar site (or maybe a bit simpler) I
think migrating there would be an idea.

It's in the Makefile.in, it did the conflicting copy. setup.py is
unchanged. I also updated some other build-related files.

I have some problems rebuilding civil 0.82 on cooker, i guess they are due to latest change to python 2.3 1) there is an header to change in src/map/los/ccivil.c 2) there is a strange problem building ccivil extension: building 'ccivil' extension creating build/temp.linux-i686-2.3 gcc -pthread -fno-strict-aliasing -DNDEBUG -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe -march=i586 -mcpu=pentiumpro -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe -march=i586 -mcpu=pentiumpro -fPIC -I/usr/include/python2.3 -c ccivil.c -o build/temp.linux-i686-2.3/ccivil.o creating build/lib.linux-i686-2.3 gcc -pthread -shared -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe -march=i586 -mcpu=pentiumpro build/temp.linux-i686-2.3/ccivil.o -o build/lib.linux-i686-2.3/ccivil.so cp: will not overwrite just-created `./ccivil.so' with `build/lib.linux-i686-2.3/ccivil.so Any clue ? -- Guillaume Rousse Average temperature increases with the amount of clothing brought -- Murphy's Laws of Camping n°10 |
