Hello, In the @TABLE section of a RuleLoader rule there are three categories of symmetry: 1. none 2. permute 3. others (rotateN etc.) For case 2 every possible unique permutation is generated with no duplicates. For case 3 each set of inputs is permuted by the relevant symmetry list. However in this case it's possible that the inputs after permutation are duplicates. This means we end up generating extra duplicate compressed rules. I did some brief testing on some of the standard Golly rules with the following results: Rule Duplicates Byl-loop 15 Chou-Reggia-1 29 Chou-Reggia-2 12 Evoloop 13 Langtons-Loops 19 Banks-II 66 Banks-IV 228 Codd 29 Devore 20 WireWorld 18 In most cases the number of duplicates is small and may only save 1 x 64 rule compressed lookup. Hi Robert, (This is the Golly mailing list, not the Ready one.) I'll fix the screenshots, thanks. Does anyone know what's going on with the sample Ready screen images? When I go to https://github.com/GollyGang/ready and scroll down a bit into the README.md there are a bunch of tiny screenshots, many of which are click-able. However, the links they lead to don't do anything useful. The first few just show an equally tiny image; the rest lead through multiple redirects to an error. For example, the last thumbnail depicts a torus/donut shape, and is a link to https://picasaweb.google.com/110214848059767137292/Ready04Screenshots#5774324687729170146 Which, if followed, eventually leaves you at https://get.google.com/albumarchive/110214848059767137292/album/AF1QipPjUjKa2k618C6YkIS_0ISyVXt79zqSk88syR4k/AF1QipNpWqqxa78QEd3ghMUB3RedNmPrr1gtBRirMjEg#5774324687729170146 which contains a "404 error" message and nothing more.
