Dear Forum, Any help would be very much appreciated. I really need to have a solution on this. I have been searching, reading and poking for 2 weeks now with no good results. I have followed the links below to set up traffic monitor for Cisco class maps, which basically involves setting up the CM-Stats template: http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=17775&start=30 http://forums.cacti.net/about17775.html http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?p=176111#p176111 The template works and i really appreciate the authors who worked on it. But sorry to say that, I experience performance problem when I added 5 routers with each having about 200 instances of graphs and data sources. Now, I have 2 questions: 1. Can we improve on the performance of the template? As I read, the template uses the "Script Server" which has much worse performance than "normal SNMP query". 2. Or is there an alternative template with better performance? My last resort would be to write my own template; but that is something i had not done before. However, i am tempted to try. Regards, Khem |

Hello, I'm working on testing V 1.0.0. We'd like to upgrade because of some of the new features that are included with it. I'm curious if anyone has a sense when the official release might happen? The webpage indicates Q1, but I'm curious if things are still on track or stalled? Also I checked out the svn and I've started testing with branches/main. I can get a new install working just fine, but when I go to do an upgrade it stalls on me with really no indication of what is going on. Has anyone successfully upgraded from v 0.8.7i to v 1.0.0? Thanks, mjr |

Please file a bug in Debian using the "reportbug cacti" command line, so that all relevant information is reported. Maybe interesting, my cacti technical information reports: SNMP Version NET-SNMP version: 5.4.3 but apt tells me that I am using php5-snmp 5.4.4-14 Paul |

Hi folks, Has anyone tried getting Cacti to work yet on Debian wheezy? It seems to be broken due to a bug in php5-snmp. That's Cacti 0.8.8a with php5-snmp 5.4.4. In this case, I get no response from SNMP if I run any of Cacti's PHP scripts manually. A quick downgrade to php5-snmp 5.3.3 gets Cacti working again, although it results in dependency problems. Cheers, Jaap |

Hi Gandalf, I have another issue related to mactrac. I add one device but it displays two, see the attached picture. Deleting one device removes both from the display. Hi Luisa, I don't know if this will help but one box I have Cacti running on has the following stats; Old Dell PowerEdge 2800, Hardware RAID 5 made from 3 x 73GB SCSI, 3.2Ghz dual core Xeon, 2x512MB RAM 400Mhz. It's happily monitoring 200 devices (servers, switches, routers, firewalls etc), circa 5000 data sources being pulled. Cheers, James. |

As long as your server supports the software required, it will completely depend on your workload. Are you monitoring just a few things? Then some virtual instance will work fine. Do you want to monitor tens of thousands? You're going to need a beefy box for that. There is no strict limitations as to what hardware will work. -- Will Gunty Sent with Sparrow (http://www.sparrowmailapp.com/?sig) On Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 3:00 PM, LUISA BERBESI BARRIENTOS wrote: > Hello, > > Thanks for the information, but i only saw software requiriments, i mean, i > would like to know more about the hardware required to install cacti like > processor, RAM ,WEB browser, etc. > > Luisa Berbesi > > 2013/3/20 Will Gunty <wi...@gu... I suppose you're using 1 min polling and did NOT modify rra settings as required.
