I have about a dozen OIDs that I would like to graph for several dozen devices, but they are not related to any index or interface, it's just host specific. If I look at the instructions for creating a SNMP Query XML Syntax there's always a reference to index values, and I presume that the template as shown on http://cacti.net/downloads/docs/html/snmp_query_xml.html only graphs indexes, not plain host values. I don't need any rows, so-to-speak. Besides following the instructions for graphing a single SNMP OID hundreds of times, is there an easier way to accomplish what I'm trying to do? This is a feature we would love to see. We use the Apache::AuthenNTLM perl module as part of our project to make as many apps single-signon as possible, so any time we can pass through authentication information to the web apps, it's a good thing. You can use mod_auth_xradius for Apache and disable authentication on Cacti. However Cacti does not support Basic HTTP authentication for profiles so you will have no profiles at all. An alternative it to keep Cacti auth as well but ppl well have to enter two password. Cacti 0.9 does support basic HTTP auth done by the webserver, but last time a checked (1-2 month ago) it really wasn't usable. I wonder if there will be a patch for 0.8.6i. Even it it's ugly/uncomplete, it's better that nothing. Something like check is the user variable is set by the webserver, if it is then proceed just as if password had been entered. TheWitness, any chance we get a patch for this with 0.8.6i ? If no, how hard do you estimate this? I might as well try it myself (but the result will be unpredictable!)... Thanks! I setup this device in Cacti, it comes back with the devices' info that it got from SNMP, I can manaully SNMPwalk it from the box Cacti is running on without any problem. I am getting that error for each device I am trying to monitor. There appears to be nothing in the rra folder. I'm not sure if its just ucd/net-snmp, but I first noticed it back in 1998 or so. So its been that way for a long time. I came across it because the snmpd was crashing and I had to restart it without restarting the system. In recent versions of RHEL, snmpd will stop answering queries after a while and I've had to restart it. A recent update seems to fix that problem though. You can always do what netcraft does, which is use the tsval from tcp headers. But that's kernel version dependent and is limited to 495 days or 49 days depending on your clock timer speed. That OID is not the host uptime, it is how long the snmpd process has been running. Why they choose to implement that instead of the host uptime is beyond me. Hi,=20 So, this a simple suggestion , but maybe that is the problem.. Please Check if the cmd.php are installed correct in the cron, for get the information and create/update the graphs... Check in /etc/cron.d/cacti, normally the cacti script cmd.php stay in /var/www/html/cacti. best regards.
