Hello, I use cacti to monitor 7 hosts. The graphs on two of them are not currently populated. The only thing I noticed common between these hosts is their age; one is an older Ubuntu (hardy) and one is an older Debian (4.0). Their snmpd.conf config files are almost identical to all the others. In particular, their community strings and access levels (read-only) are configured the same as all the others. I'm not sure how to troubleshoot these hosts, to figure out why the ucd/net graphs aren't being populated. Can anyone help? Also, on the device screen for every host, there are three Graph Templates that create identical graphs on all hosts (CPU, load, memory), and two associated Data Queries (SNMP - Get Mounted Partitions and Interface Statistics). On the device screen, they are all identical. But somehow I created graphs for these Data Queries on some machines but not others. Does anyone know why I see these graphs on some Host graphs and not others? FYI, if you're running Cacti on Mac OS X, and you move that box to 10.5.7, Spine will probably start complaining about the new SNMP library version: 05/18/2009 10:12:46 AM - SPINE: Poller[0] ERROR: SNMP Library Version Mismatch (5.4.1 vs 5.4.2.1) (Spine parent) -- john welch the/zimmerman/agency 850.668.2222 jw...@zi... |

So after upgrading to 10.5.7, I get the following error: 05/18/2009 11:48:14 AM - SPINE: Poller[0] ERROR: SNMP Library Version Mismatch (5.4.1 vs 5.4.2.1) (Spine parent) Rebuilt spine, no change. Its an oops from 2004. We should remove the setting. Although with the timespan selector turned off, it might work. I'm having trouble adding the graphs I want to one of my graph trees in 0.8.7b. I'm trying to give myself an overview of all the servers I monitor by adding graphs to the root of one of my trees. I'm trying to add the Monthly graph view for each of the graphs in question, but when I go and view the graphs, they're always the Daily view instead. Is this a known bug that I'm just not Googling well enough for? Adrian |

I was wondering if it's possible to have a data source assigned to a host that will be polled along with the rest, but has no assigned graph? I'm setting up thold alerting, and I want to collect and alert on data that I don't need to see in my graphs (for example I find it more helpful to see disk usage in a used/free stacked graph instead of a percentage consumed, but it's easier to set up a threshold on a percentage, so I want to collect both but only bother graphing one). Is this possible? Adrian |

Let's assume I have one minute poller that runs every minute and I have two different rra's designed to update one per minute and one per day. My question is the following: Every time the poller runs, would it query the one per day ds only or all datasources every polling cycle? I know it won't update the once a day rra, but would it query the device every minute? This is important because I have a custom scripts to check some db stats and running this script every minute against a production db increases the load on db dramatically and this is no good. Thanks in advance for the info. Regards, hasan |
