Hi I've setup my CACTI (version 0.8.7f running on RHEL 5.5) to display disk usage of /var/log partition of a group of identical systems I administrate. All systems but 1 display wrong information. Most system of the systems display the graphs as the websrv5 image, a couple display the same content as the websrv2 image and only websrv6 displays the correct graphs. The graphs were all created the same way, and on all systems the usage of /var/log partition behaves in real life like websrv6. Pointers to what might cause the difference would be appriciated. Hello all, I´ve added the HRULE value to the "aggregate graphic template" and when I do that the graph do not show up. I´ve noticed that some other configuration needed to plot the HRULE information in the graph is not available, like the Graph Item Inputs. Is it possible to edit the "Aggregate Templete" so it displays the hired bandwidth for two or more interfaces? I use the CLI to automate adding new devices and graphs. When I use the normal web interface to add new data query graphs, I can add graphs for *all* data query rows with the "select all" checkbox. Can I accomplish the same with the CLI? When I omit the "--snmp-field=..." or "--snmp-value=..." options, add_graphs.php complains: > ERROR: For graph-type of 'ds' you must supply more options I am adding graphs for a "wireless station" data query (SSID, signal strength, etc.) and for each of our devices there is at most one row. It is inconvenient to have to correctly specify the value of an input field, to select this row (and so to have to maintain scripts with correct values) I just want to "select all" rows, from the CLI |

Gandalf The HRULE is add to the template item, but if I do not enter a value the graph won't be displayed. I have to enter a value to display it. The solution would be to switch the users tree access to be"DENY" by default. Verify this by logging in as such a user: no trees should be shown. Next step is to ALLOW the specific tree. This should then be the only one seen. Hello again. I have a graph tree called client, and on this tree I have 2 leafs, one for each client also I have 2 users, one for each client.. I wanted that the users could only see his own leaf.... I know I can deny access to the graphs of the other client, so the first user will not see the graphs . but he can still see the leaf....only the graphs are invisible.. also I know I could do that creating one tree for each client, but is there any way to do that with only one tree? for example: how the tree is: tree: clients | - - - client1 | --- graphs | - - - client2 | ---graphs how the client1 sees the tree tree: clients | - - - client1 | --- graphs | - - - client2 the way I want he see: tree: clients | - - - client1 | --- graphs -- Att, |

User Management / Graph Permissions tab at the bottom of the created user page. Graph Permissions (By Graph) - set default policy to Allow Graph Permissions (By Device) - set default policy to Deny, then 'Add Host' the specific host you want them to have access to Graph Permissions (By Graph Template) - set default policy to Allow Tree Permissions - set default policy to Deny, then 'Add Tree' the specific tree you want them to view the host on Save. Thanks Gandalf.. the problem was solved.. the problem was that I had some "nan" values on my rrd file... as I could see, cacti ignores these values on the AVG ... so if I have 5 values, one of them is nan, to cacti I have only 4 values.. (it sums the 4 values and divide by 4) my script was considering nan values as 0, so I had 5 values (it sums the 5 values - one of them is -, so I have the same 4 values than cacti consider - and divide by 5) .. that's why I was getting a different value.. it was solved with a simple grep -v on my script...lol thanks again Gandalf... 2012/3/16 Gandalf <ga...@ca...> > Ok, this is the standard rrdtool AVERAGE, that is used here. > Find some hints for that at http://www.vandenbogaerdt.nl that describes > quite > well what is happening here. Sure. What you discovered is plain old rrdtool aggregation. So it's in there by purpose. You may change RRAs to change the consolidation timespan coverage. See http://docs.cacti.net/manual to find a procedure to mass-change RRAs. But make sure to read the chapters on rrdtool consolidation to understand, how it works Reinhard -----Original Message----- From: monloi perez <mlp...@ya...> Date: Sun, 18 Mar 2012 18:27:15 To: Support about cacti<cac...@li...> Reply-To: monloi perez <mlp...@ya...>, Support requests/questions about cacti <cac...@li...> Subject: Re: [cacti-user] cacti graph daily view and moving backwards question Is there any way to change this? ________________________________ From: monloi perez <mlp...@ya...> To: monloi perez <mlp...@ya...>; Support about cacti <cac...@li...>; Support requests/questions about cacti <cac...@li...> Sent: Monday, March 19, 2012 9:24 AM Subject: Re: [cacti-user] cacti graph daily view and moving backwards question All, I found the answer to my question. But still I don't know why it's like this. I think usually users think that when you use the 1 day and scan for previous days the aggregation stays but seems like it changes on 3 days old data.
