folder including the index.html file. This would make
the directory listable in certain environments

A thread has started on xoops.org (see http://www.xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=55390&viewmode=flat&order=ASC&start=0 ) discussing how we could add multi site logons into Xoops. i.e. registration at one site enables registration at other sites automatically.

I think that this has some merit for Xoops going forward.   and would be a powerfull feature.  Anyone got any views?

This is called Syndicated Signon, and is discussed in the 2.3 development
threads on the authentication layer.

One way to do this is to use the Liberty Alliance project API, but there
are others that provide similar API's for syndicated signons.

Lets not reinvent the wheel here.

The following routin works and the field gets configuren.

However, it is useless. One cannot use those field on the front-office i.e. on the user side it does not show up. Permissions have been correct.
(Unless I made some mistakes!)

I've been having problems with using the XoopsFormDateTime controls for some time now, and today I found out why: The translation files in XOOPS_URL/class/calendar/lang/ seem to be translations for different versions of the calendar, and they should be checked and updated before the next Xoops release.

Proof: English calendar works, Norwegian don't. After I edited the calendar-no.js file everything works. Some of the definitions were missing, and I suspect this goes for other language files as well.

Norwegian was the only language with problems. There may be more, but

It's for both xoops 2.0.x and 2.2.x versions. I know a lot of people who just can't install because of bad indexes or keys. If there would be no numbers everything would be good. Now in mysql4.1 xoops can't take bloks and other things.

I attached good sql from xoops 2.2.5rc2

instead of

I have upgraded my live installation and everything works flawless. The
bug I reported has been removed, i.e. after the module was de-activated
the block also gets automatically de-activated.

Solution:

The BEST way to handle this problem to my opinion ist:

To use the TREE structure of Heritage, the same like to that
of Permission-Tree.

If the permissions AND generation of data BOTH TOGATHER are
growing like a tree, would help in minimisation of all such
errors, which is perhaps NOT the case.

I think that this has some merit for Xoops going forward.   and would be a powerfull feature.  Anyone got any views?

This is called Syndicated Signon, and is discussed in the 2.3 development
threads on the authentication layer.

One way to do this is to use the Liberty Alliance project API, but there
are others that provide similar API's for syndicated signons.

Lets not reinvent the wheel here.

A latest version check, which will check to see if the user is using the latest *stable* release of Xoops, and needs to update or not.

Some recent modules have added this feature - and this would also help put the responsibility of updating the core back onto the user.

i think the poster is talking about a page/ or notification that tells
them their version is old. that is built in to the administration
section.

for example. nucleus has a page that checks your current installed version
with the current stable version of the script and then gives you a download
link. (i think that was how it was done.. its been a while since i used
nucleus. ) 

what i believe that one of the benefits from this is that i dont have to
go searching on the site (but then again its easy to find the current
version of any download when you go to their site).
another is that some people are busy and dont want to open another browser
window. or tell them self.. 'yea ill check later'.. or they keep on
checking and then stop.. and become really involved in their site and dont
know what is going on in the XooPS world.
