I've just had this issue and I "solved" it by using the VirtualDub.exe instead of VirtualDub64.exe I didn't have an easy way to lower the volume with my setup (VCR + Easier CAP) so I was frustrated because with the same setup I didn't have any distortion with VirtualDub1. Not using the 64bits version probably has some performance penalties, but in my case it worked ok.

No, I'm afraid not. I had to manually capture the problem tape with GraphStudioNext instead in the end, which was doable for me, but would prove tricky for a lot of people.

Did you find a solution to the audio issue? I am getting the same thing. First MiniDV tape worked fine. Part way through the second one, after a change in scene, the audio stops working.

Usually you left-click the file you want (or green download button), then you see "download will begin shortly", then after 5 sec a file save dialog should appear. Don't try to "save link as" or to save all at once, it won't work.

I may be wrong, never paid much attention to interlaced content. From what I remember encoding of frame type / field order is vaguely implemented in AVI. You just have to specify it correctly (manually) where it is required (e.g. for any deinterlacing filter).

Hi there! The ability to open online videos directly in VirtualDub2 using the YouTube-dl library is a fantastic feature. It allows users to paste video links and choose from various streams for both audio and video, making it a versatile tool for video processing. This functionality can be particularly useful for video descrambling, enabling users to apply decoder filters and enjoy content without the hassle of ads, much like the convenience of using Pikashow for ad-free streaming.

I understand your frustration with Virtualdub2's limitations for video editing, especially in regard to handling compressed video and audio issues. It's essential for a video editor to work seamlessly with various input drivers and maintain the integrity of both video and audio. If you're looking for a more reliable video editing solution on Ubuntu, you might want to consider alternatives like CapCut. CapCut offers a user-friendly interface and has been designed to handle a wide range of video editing...

  • Anonymous posted a comment on ticket #479

VD frameserver relies on very legacy protocol which nobody bothers to support. IMO creating temporary file is the most efficient way. If you absolutely want frameserver, you can try to use intermediate frameserver with vapoursynth avfs.

  • Sotirios Papakonstantinou Sotirios Papakonstantinou posted a comment on ticket #476

If you don't want to mess with command parameters, you can install K-Lite codecs or FFMPEG and use the X264 codec directly from the list of video compression. Or you can download the x264vfw codec which also works in the original VirtualDub.

A relatively easy way is to setup the "external encoder feature" (with command line x264). Otherwise you need to update the plugin, this is not trivial https://sourceforge.net/p/vdfiltermod/x264/ci/master/tree/

Hi Anton, sounds bad that you lost control. I have another question about VD2. I would like to know whether its possible to repleace any frame/s with a other frame of same video without to change the audio track / frame itself? In VD2 is a option called mask selected frames and then just this one / same frame at the start of selection is showing for entire selection what is good. Now would like to do same just with a other frame of the video. Somehow I need to copy any single frame from anywhere...

Hello Anton, over a year ago since my last post and I see you still didn't update & improve the logo filter/s what makes me really sad. Would be nice if you could do it if possible. Also if you could just add a free-hand logo moving (left mouse hold down & move on desired location of the image) without to press the value +/- buttons or entering a value manually or scroll. If you don't want to update VD2 for this then maybe you could just create a new custom filter we could add in VD2 later if you...

You can try with 'fccHandler MKV plugin input driver' for Virtualdub. But it is old (2012); if doesn't work, I think it works if you first prepare mkv file with mkvtoolnix with right settings.

When you open a File, there's a box at the bottom, "Input Driver", VD canDSC ( Direct Stream Copy) when using the original Audio/Video interleave input driver(internal) which has very limited formats support. New VD2 Caching input driver opens almost everything, but only can DSC on ALL-I (all keyframes) video (like MJPEG, HUFFYUV), but CAN'T on others like H264 which has frames which depend on previous/post frames. So you can only full process those. Maybe AVIDEMUX will direct copy as you want. Or...

No need fix, the problem is your video/PC, install a pack codec video/audio. If always same problem, use mkvmerge to merge your video into mkv. I don't use 4k because it's useless but I think maybe VD don't like 4k & I'm pretty sure that some codec video can't encode into 4k, so check it.

  • Anonymous posted a comment on ticket #455
