Build 40639/release (32-bit). There are no other filters enabled. If it does not crash instantly, it crashes when video processing is started. It does not crash when curve is disabled or another deinterlacing filter is chosen (bob). The source is MPEG2 (VOB). It is processed in YUV420 (YV12).

I was unable to reproduce it. If possible, share the following:
source video used when it crashed
virtualdub_autosave.. file (it is saved before processing) or use file->save project as
virtualdub crash report
registry export of settings HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VirtualDub.org

Да при любом открытом видео, как оказалось, крэш. И VOB, и MKV, и AVI... В том же самом месте:

Достаточно сначала включить Yadif, затем включить ему Blending и Curve, ничего больше не меняя, и нажать OK, выйдя таким образом из выбора фильтров сразу в крэш...
...потестировав ещё, я обнаружил, что крэша нет, если выключить Preferences->3D accel->Enable 3D... (VDXA)
Ага, проблема именно в VDXA. Буду разбираться...
Выходит blend curve никогда не работала с VDXA. То же самое с фильтрами blur, invert, brightness/contrast.
В результате я эту функцию (VDXA) совсем уберу.
