Use colorspace RBG32 in the script. VD only use 8b & 16b, IDK with other in input but it's enought, +24b it's useless... But if you installed all codec to read viveo/audio, you don't need any script except if VD don't have what you want in his filter...

You can try opening the first file changing the input driver (Audio/video interleave vs Caching Input). Also you may try using 32bit VirtualDub2 intead of x64 version (you may configure it with AuxSetup.exe to Enbable LAA so it will be able to handle 4Gb of RAM instead of 2Gb).
Maybe you can try selecting your internal audio card for audio source,, and use it's line in.
I have same device. In capture mode, select Video, Set Custom Format: Data Format: MJPG; Use Custom Size: 1280x720; also in video, Compression, (No Recompression MJPG); is what I use. I obtained better and faster results with those settings than with fullHD, at least with my TV source broadcast.

It does work, I made a Batch available here for automatic processing, it includes the plugin: virtualdub-batch-video-deshake

Hello, txs a lot. VirtualDub stays awesome! Much Greetings, Patrick Op zo 8 mei 2022 19:45 schreef noreply@sourceforge.net: OK, this specific codec is not supported - but how to integrate the others? Sorry - should have said, 'I'd like to use deshaker - the video stabilizer extension for the previous version.

Just checking in. Has there been any new versions or patches that have fixed the 64bit version of Virtualdub2?
No way to output video with unsigned PCM 16bit
A newer version of vsfilters can be found by installing KliteMegaCodecPack: x64 "c:\Program Files (x86)\K-Lite Codec Pack\Filters\DirectVobSub64\vsfilter.dll" x32 "c:\Program Files (x86)\K-Lite Codec Pack\Filters\DirectVobSub\vsfilter.dll" Copy to plugins32/64 VD folder and rename to .VDF
Thanks it works!! MPEG Layer-3 still would not work for me.
Thank's a lot Anonymous, it's working perfectly.
VD2 Crash when Appending video to existing file
As far as I know, high resolution and frequency formats are only supported in compressed format. With older webcams, choose MJPG instead of YUY2. Your device may be using a different codec (for example, H.264).
Nvidia graphics cards do not support Apple ProRes encoding. https://developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-video-codec-sdk

Nope, no xvid. I tried the codec pack but it just happens with multiple codecs. H264.

Would you be willing to have an archive of other plugins for 32 bit and 64? There are so many that are useful, and sometimes they just evaporate becoming unfindable. On that I have archived on my computer is Dsharp, which is one of the best refocusing plugins, but without any docs or sources. It has vanished from the web. I have 2 which I fixed from the existing sources: Border control, Filter Blender. Both had some nasty defects. Border control wouldn't save/restore properly, and Filter Blender...
including the .TS (Transport Stream) container
"Streaks" are called combing, this is called by your source video being interlaced. Use deinterlacer with "double frame rate" and one of the three interpolating algorithms, Yadif is the best that VD has, bob is the simplest. Make sure you correctly set up field order, to verify, skip frame by frame - if the movement is consistent then your field order is correct, if it is like two frames forward one frame back, then it is incorrect and needs to be swiched to another one, there are only two options,...

Hi Gilles, that wasn't the question. For capture, as in most programs (ie: audacity, adobe audition, etc) levels are set by windows mixer. In edit mode there is: volume and conversion, or an advanced filtering with time stretch, resample, gain, filters, etc. Personally if audio processing is required, I always extract to WAV, do all audio processing on CoolEdit, and then remux when doing final A+V compress.

Hello, Does it mean VDub2 has no way to increase/decrease audio volume while editing, and relies on Windows' meter? Thank you.

Thanks Anton, I know you are busy to pay attention to vdub2, but anyway, I hope that some simple stuff can be added with little effort.
"Anonymous", this is an open forum, you may recieve other users answers. As I said, DirectStreamCopy works on some lossless formats, and VirtualDub is still very useful as is. What you are asking requires heavy non paid work.
Well, I see how this is frustrating. But since the development is on huge pause I cant fix anything now or tomorrow and this means there is nothing to reply except "I'll se this when I can" which is quite boring.
It doesnt matter, I read everything but honestly I can't tell much, sorry.
Excuse me again, this post is directed at Anton Shekhovtsov
I have a clue why this happens, probably the feature to skip error dialogs was broken in some version.
parameter to exit without any dialog on error
I never paid much attention to DShowInputDriver, maybe tried it once and was dissatisfied. I'm under impression it is not worth it.
Excuse me I should have directed the question at Anton Shekhovtsov. It is a question to see if he could give solution for why DShowInputDriver.vdplugin v0.9.3.0 doesn't work ATM with VD2 and if he could update it to work with VD2. DShowInputDriver.vdplugin is a Video-Audio Input Driver that would allow users to load video and audio directly into VD2. The more options the user has, better for VD2 for having them.
parameter to exit without any dialog on error
Audio/Video Interleave interface is good for MJPEG, HUFFYUV and other all keyframes formats. VDub is still useful for full processing, scrips, etc, understanding it's limitations. As nobody is getting paid for this you may try to add those missing features yourself instead :)
Did you tried to use it on an older VDub version to see if it works? If so, you may transcode to a lossless (Lagarith) codec and then reopen it on modern vdub2.

Virtualdub2 Video Editor
It's quite easy to make simple fade from/to solid color only (usually black). If you need this, add "fill" filter, then use filters->blending.. dialog, apply opacity curve. Blending A [B] marker means that a filter is being blended. When blending is active, the Curve Editor in the main view can be used to blend the result of the filter in and out over time.
There is a trick (some people found it too difficult) to reverse video only (not the sound): use fflayer filter, point it the file you want to reverse, set follow timeline from to last frame number, rate -1.
Yes, there is, actually. You will need Avisynth Plus to do this. The original Avisynth is incompatible with VirtualDub 2. I would also recommend downloading AVSEdit Plus. For me this was a godsend. Not only does it let you easily interact with the scripts that you've created. But it also provides templates for all other types of scripts so that you never have to write them down, memorize them, or look them up on the internet again. Truly, a magnificent tool.
I would assume that you're trying to use the original Avisynth to do this as VirtualDub 2 does not have a native fading filter. Avisynth is incompatible with VirtualDub 2. And it will continue to give you an error message if you try using your scripts with it installed. However, if you upgrade to Avisynth Plus, then it will work just fine. Can't use an old engine with a new car after all. ;-)
Is there a way to reverse a video in VIrtualDub2?
Is there a way to reverse a video in VIrtualDub2?
Pretty much what the title says. How do I fade a video in or out in VirtualDub2?
How to fade in/out a video?
Hi Anton, just wanna ask again to improve the internal Logo filter / fflayer filter. So the first important thing to add would be a quick logo mover via mouse itself to set new positions without using the +/- keys. You should add a faster method. Also the method on fflayer by using shift+click is bad and not accurate.Better would be a shift or strg+mouse hold button down to move the logo to a exactly desired point anywhere on the video and that would be much faster instead using those position buttons...
I'll give it a shot. Thank you.
No shortcut. Btw have you tried File->export->stream copy, it is very close to what ffmpeg does if you just need to cut.
Thanks Is there a keyboard shortcut to copy the timeline into the clipboard?
Maybe this can help: Preferences->Timeline, change "Info text" to just %t Then you can right-click and copy timeline info.
Copy start/end marks to clipboard?

Deinterlacing should only be used for broadcast videos where all frames are interlaced, NEVER for movies which have been telecined. Movies are telecined to add one extra frame for every 4 to convert from 24fps to 30fps for creating NTSC videos. Deinterlacing will still leave duplicate frames and sometimes multiple duplicates in a row. This will cause even more judder and make good spot removal impossible for plut-ins, and more difficult for manual frame by frame removal. As to deinterlacing, the...

VD2 (& the original VD) it's a very old good freeware from Win XP/7 & so for "new" video/audio support from "2021", that will be complicated because I think the creator of VD2 it's not the same for the original VD... Anyway that was simple to search on the net & so do it & you will find how to do with Avisynth to do manything that VD2 can't do it...
Before encode a DVD movie, you need to rip it in one single files... Use DVDShrink, it's a very old freeware from Win XP/7, you can normally find it every where or go to the official website & download it for 5$... One of the best & most easy, it don't encode because it's a raw copy video/audio... After that if always a problem, use MKVToolNix & then VD2 can read it without any problem...
Hum... Why do you just not use the filter "deinterlace"? I use it for any DVD from any zone & I don't have any problem...
Save input driver on pending works.
¿How did you open DVD? ¿Did you try to open it with caching input driver? Maybe installing DTS_AC3_Source_Filter_x32 will enable it. MakeMKV may help you to direct copy DVD to PC for later processing.

You still don't get it. Duplicate frames don't take any space at all on H264. You won't reduce file size by decimating. As I tried to explain before. A whole bunch of frames are compressed taking in account very little is changed from one frame to another. You can erase 4 every 5 frames on all video, and final h264 size would still be 99% of the original h264 you tried to reduce. Please stop insisting on this.

New codecs won't be able to improve, I would say that just yet computers ever evolving. Just need someone with different ideas to move compression into another direction. That said as you say its about hardware as always was to decode the frames fast enough. Encoders already use CPU or today GFX. There was a great con GFX devices of long ago with AGP when they touted capabilities such as a zillion of GFlops and a whole lot more besides more but didn't do encoding why was that I sometimes wonder!....
My answer stands for all compressors which uses previous and optionally future frames as a base to achieve high compression as XVID, DIVX, H264. H265 was an example, H264 works exactly the same way. H265 doesn´t have limitations, players and devices have. New codecs won´t be able to improve a lot. Eventually new hardware will be able to encode decode faster, but size improvements will be marginal. h265 have same quality at a smaller size, at the prize of high cpu use. But maybe a 30% size saving...
