Floral Card

Hello Everyone.   Well today was a much better day and although it was mostly blue skies and sunshine,  it was still perishing cold,  but I only walked to the shop and got the papers and came back home.  Managed a few hours crafting too and got a few things finished off.   I also found time to make a card using the Stampin Up stippled blossoms.  Perseverance is the key to getting these stamps especially when your over-stamping,  but I am a lot happier with this card than the last one,  so hopefully I have found the way to do it now.   I started another scene from Stampscapes  to- night as it was football on the box.  So I am listening to Skipinish a great scottish/gaelic group and  I just love their music.    Hope you have a lovely evening too.   Hugs Rita xxx

Golden Wedding Card

Hello Everyone.  What a terribly cold and wet day we have here and the wind just chills your bones.  I had to venture out this morning to keep an appointment at the optician,  and I was absolutely frozen when I got back.
Todays card is one I was asked to make for a Golden Wedding.   It is an 8 X 8 white card that I matted with gold and again I used a Sue Wilson die from the Austrian collection background .  I just love those dies.  The ivy was also from Sue and the flowers I made and coloured them yellow with gold highlights.  The ribbon was from Ribbon Girl and always ties a dream.  I can see a mark in the right hand corner,  but I can assure you it was not there when it was collected.  Maybe the lens on my camera perhaps.   Thank You all for the encouraging comments left on my Misty Morn card .  I really am enjoying these stamps.  Off to do something very different for me and I hope to show it soon.  Take Care and Keep yourselves warm and cosy.    Hugs Rita xxxxx

Misty Morning

Hello Dear Friends and Followers and anyone else that happens to drop by.   Here we are another weekend nearer to March,  and I am so looking forward to a week of some crafting,  appointment free for a whole week. Yay
Yesterday was spent with my lovely daughter Annie and our dear friend Astrid who came down for the day to join us.   We try and meet as often as time allows as Astrid and Annie are very busy people.   Annie provided us with a fabulous lunch too, always a treat for me.   We always craft and have plenty laughter and chatter along the way.  I'll add some pictures at the bottom of my page.
Anyway, whilst my mojo was missing I started watching Stampscapes lessons to see if it would help me find it again ,  and so I have been busy practicing  what the lovely Kevin Nakagawa tells us to do on his wonderful tutorials.   I also had lots of help from the lovely Shaz Brooks ( Silverwolf ) who also has some amazing tutorials too.  Thank You Shaz.         I really do have lots to learn , but I thought you might like to see my first card using the beautiful stamps.   Lots of Hugs and Thank You for staying with me whilst I was awol.    Take Care Everyone.    Rita xxxx

Wedding Card

Hello Everyone.   Hope you are all well and to those feeling down at the moment I wish you better days to come.  Lots of people got the dreaded cold and flu at the moment too,  so hope you all feel better soon.
Busy week for me as yesterday was taken up with a hospital visit and everything was running an hour late,  even one of the consultants was late.  Today was a Doctors appointment for Andrew at 11 o'clock and we are just home from that, not to worry.  Onwards and Upwards as they say.
Another Wedding card to show you today and this one was a commissioned  piece.   It is my usual 8 X 8 card and matted with centura pearl card.  The dies I used for this card were Marianne,  it always looks beautiful for this type of card. The corners are also from Marianne and I think these ones were the first dies that I bought.   I added some ivory pearls in different sizes and a spray of flowers,  before adding a white organza ribbon double bow.
Take Care.   Hugs Rita xxx

Christmas Card Club Challenge 4: Snow Covered Trees

Hello Folks.  Another two weeks have since our last Challenge at CCC  and Mary has chosen the theme this time for challenge 4, and she chose Snow Covered Trees.   A lovely theme I have to say,  but hard to take pictures.   Never mind,  my trees are embossed and covered with snowy sparkle embossing powder.  The little cottage is a die is from Cottage Cuts and I backed with navy card and fussy cut it to make a silouette.   A bit of distressing round the edges and that is my card for this challenge.  We have now had a whole week of beautiful spring weather, with lots of sunshine and blue skies.  It certainly makes everyone feel much better.  Long may it continue.  Enjoy the rest of the week-end.       Hugs Rita xxxxx

Birthday Card

Hello My Friends & fellow bloggers.    Hope all is well with you and if not I do hope you feel better soon.
Today's card is one that I made for my Grandson Garry,  who is so laid back and this image from LOTV was specially made for him.   So often I turn to these,  as male cards are not my favourite card to make.   However, he loved his card and of course the money gift that was inside.   Lots of you have helped me find my missing mojo and your stunning cards have been such an inspiration.  So Thank you for that.   I have a couple of orders to finish and a challenge card to make,  so that will keep me busy for a while.    Hugs Rita xxxx

Birthday card

Hello Everyone.  This was a birthday card that I made on Sunday for a friend,   it was for a 50th Birthday and the recipient is a Keep Fit fanatic.   So I tried to keep it nice , but at the same time add something referring to keeping fit.   She picked it up last night and loved it..
Spent 3 hours at the hospital yesterday with Andrew for his pre-op and although it went well,  it could still be some time before he gets called.  The Orthopedic ward has been closed as the beds were needed for Medical patients.   It all has to be cleaned out once it's empty,  as the they cannot have patients with open wounds allowed  back in till the work is done.  Seemingly Bed Blocking is another big issue too,  with all wards full to overflowing.  We used to have the best NHS in the country, where did it go.    Hope you are all well and enjoying the lovely spring weather, even though it is chilly the sun has been shining.      Hugs to All.   Rita xxxx

Love is in the Air

Hi Everyone.   Hope you are all keeping well and free from the cold.   We still have no snow here,  but it is rather cold.   Now my card to-day was inspired by a card sent to me by my good friend Patricia of Summerhouse Crafts.  She makes the most beautiful cards and it really is worth paying her a visit.   So this is the first card I have made using the " Stampin Up" Stippled Blossom stamps.  I still have a lot to learn with these stamps,  but I loved making this card  and the fabulous effect they give your card.   Details of where to purchase them is on Patricia's Blog.
I think my desktop PC is slowly packing up as  twice this week I have tried without success to upload a card.   However, I do have my laptop if I'm stuck.   Andrew has to go for another Pre-Op on Monday as the time on the last one has ran out.   I really feel annoyed now that this has taken over a year to sort out.    See you on Tuesday with another card, says she keeping her fingers crossed.    Enjoy your Day.    Hugs Rita xxxxx

Wedding Post Box and Card etc.

Hello Everyone.   I thought you might like to see the Wedding card, bag and gift wallet I made for Garry and Jennifer.   It really is hard to get a decent picture of an all white card,  even though there was pearlised card on them too.   Mostly I used the Martha Stewart punch along with a Marianne die for the card and tried to follow the theme from there.
The Wedding Post box was bought and then decorated ,  again in the tartan and pearls used on my card.  My new Bosch glue gun was a godsend whilst doing this as the silk chiffon kept slipping and sliding away from me.
Thank You all for the lovely comments and Best Wishes left on my blog in the last few days.    Crafters really are the greatest people and know exactly what is involved in the making of these creations .   The Flowers in the picture below were given to me by the wedding couple and they were the same ones used in the ceremony.     My photography really does not do them justice.   I'll be back soon as I do have some orders to make.   Hugs Rita xxx

Christmas Card Club. Challenge 3. Jolly Santa, Ho Ho Ho

Hello Everyone.   Firstly let me apologise to Lorainne for being a bit late with her Challenge that should have been in this morning.   However, after a busy few weeks I forgot all about it and spent today tryingto produce a card. Thank Goodness for dies and that was a great help to  make Santa's tree look real.  The sentiment was computer generated.   Hugs Rita xxx

Yesterday was my first Grandchild to get married and what a wonderful day it was ,  the sun shone for them from morning till it went behind Arran in the evening.   The service was the nicest one I have ever heard,  I don't think there was a dry eye in the house.   I had family staying and of course in all our excitement I forgot about everything else.  I felt so privelaged to be there and take part in their special day.
