Jira Tool Registration

Connect Jira tool in Opsera to empower your team to collaborate better by registering the tool in Tool Registry. Upon successful registration, you can use your Jira account to receive Notifications and approve/deny executions for Pipelines, and more.

Generate API Token for Jira Tool

You need an API Token to integrate Opsera app with Jira. To generate the API Token:

  1. Login to https://id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/security/api-tokens with your account credentials. Alternatively go to your Atlassian account, and navigate to Profile > Account Settings > Security > Create & Manage API Tokens.

  2. Click Create API Token.

  3. Enter a label for the token. The API token will be generated.

  4. Copy the API Token and use this while setting up the connection for the Jira Tool in Opsera.

Register Jira Tool

  1. Login to Opsera, and navigate to Tool Registry.

  2. Click + New Tool.

  3. In Step 1, select the Jira Tool from the listing.

  4. In Step 2, enter the basic details for the tool and set the Access Control by defining the users and the access type. Once done, click Create.

  5. In Step 3, enter details the following and then click Save.

  • Provide values for Jira URL , ex:(https://domain.atlassian.net)

  • Enter Jira Port (optional), and Jira Username.

  • Enter the copied API Token in the Jira API Token field.

  • To enable Data Center for the Jira tool, toggle the Data centre to active.

  1. Click Install Jira App, if you are connecting Opsera app to Jira for the first time.

  2. In Step 4, the tool connection will be tested.

Note: In case of tool connection failure, click Try Again to re-enter the tool configuration details. To proceed with the tool creation and set up connection later, click Skip to Tool Detail.

Your tool will be successfully configured in Opsera.

Points to remember

  • Installing the Jira app is a one time activity, after which the Opsera app will be connected to your Organization's Jira. To confirm this, navigate to your Jira account and look for Opsera under Apps.

  • Once Opsera is successfully connected, when you or another user in the organization creates a new Jira tool, you can simply click Save and utilize the app. Clicking the Install Jira App button will result in error.

Note: If button does not show Installation Succeeded and throw error

  • Verify URL

  • Verify Token / generate new Token

  • Ensure to save again before clicking Install Jira App

  • If already installed and getting error - Navigate to Manage your apps & uninstall the app and retry
