Opening of the 2023 gachapon tube

Another year gone by, and more balls have been turned and ready for opening.

Now, as I tried to get some collections complete, there will be doubles inside though. I`ll put those up on MFC later for exchange, but let's check what we got this year!

But first of all, the number of balls inside, and this year I opted to count them as I added them, to make it easier in the end.

So inside the tube is the following amount: 7 gachapon balls.

I didn't as such enlist Noshi again to pull them all open, so let's watch the video, raw and uncut, on the opening of all these tiny little balls of kawaii goodness.

Well, it puts two series of Quintuplets on 4 out of 5, maybe I should go to the Akiba store this week to see if they don't have the machines anymore and try to get the remaining ones after all...

And then crack them open in a year hehehe...

Unboxing Banpresto Lunamaria Hawke from the DX Kumitate Shiki Girls line

Awright, another good find at Mandarake, as I got this fine lady for 1200 yen.

So, the box was damaged but unopened, I can live with that as I don`t ever sell my waifu anyways...

There are two different Lunamaria's in this line, but the first of them can now be scratched of my to hunt list.

So let's have a look at her a bit closer!

I was especially amazed by how tall she! This is one fine figure, and a great addition to the waifu shelf... which is now expanding into a second one full of Lunamaria's...

Unboxing Taito Kurumi Tokisada bunny version

Hailing from the Revival line by Taito, this Kurumi is the latest addition to the collection, another win from TokyoCatch.

And she is in a bunny suit, making it extra he-he...

So let's open this figure in the following video clip

All in all, even though I like her more in red, not to bad a figure at all. And a welcome collection addition for my series of waifu's.

Unboxing Saint Cosmo Memoir Seiya

The latest addition to my Saint Seiya collection, this was another figure won over at the TokyoCatch crane game app.

So when it arrived, I went to unbox it of course, so let's have a look at the little video clip.

I love his uniform, albeit it only featured briefly in the series (basically, only in the first half of the first episode) before he changed to his traditional blue jeans and red shirt outfit, yet that training styled figure has something, I don`t know how to say it, powerfull about it.

So, probably one of the last figures of the year to be honest, as I have nothing lined up beyond him in pre-orders for now. Though you never know what the gacha gods might throw in my lap...

Unboxing the Mist Hashira

The latest figure that is joining our "mutual" collection of Noshi and me, it is the Mist Hashira, Muichiro Tokito.

Seen in action in the recent Demon Slayer Swordsmith Village Arc, this silent and hazed warrior had some impressive fighting skills.

Noshi liked him so much actually, I went out and grabbed him on TokyoCatch, though personally I liked "Lord Flashy" from season 2 more hehe.

But without further ado, let's crack open the box and have a look at the figure:

So a fairly standard pose figure, but a nice representation of the character for a prize figure, as this whole line has decent quality models.

And it makes Noshi happy, so that is a big bonus...

Unboxing Ichika Nakano

One of the recent wins from Tokyocatch, it's Ichika, my favorite Quintuplet.

And as such, let's have a look at this sitting figure!

Now, looking at the box, I hope I will be pleasantly suprised, because the eyes don`t look that awesome at all on the box...

So let's find out:

All in all, not bad, but definitly not the best Ichika I have.

Unboxing Marin Kitagawa

Yessss, I got myself a Marin, the ultimate girl otaku!

Well, she will be joined near the end of the year when the large scale figure comes out, but for now she is already a welcome addition to the collection.

Produced by Sega, this prize figure was caught over at TokyoCatch, and arrived near the end of july in my mailbox.

So let's have a look at this lovely lady and crack open the box:

Unboxing Lunamaria Hawke Deformation Maniac

Aaah, another Lunamaria for my shrine, and this one was found over at Mandarake in their pre-woned section.

A steal at 300 yen (well, before taxes, so that's why I never aim for high end, expensive shipping figures anymore), she made the trip safely from Japan to little Belgium.

A figure in Chibi style, she is part of the SEED petite line volume 2, and has her typical cheeky behaviour look. Though on a blister, that means I won't be keeping the packaging for this one, so check out this video for the unboxing:

This year is turning out to be good one for Lunamaria figures, in that quantity that I`m going to have expand the shelf to two shelves in the not so far future.

Unboxing the Love Hashira

The latest addition from Tokyocatch, Kanroji has joined the collection.

Meaning the noodle stopper I have from her will be traded off in favour of this more anime posed figure.

So, let's crack open the box of the mild mannered Hashira, and see if she looks any good!

Well, indeed a dynamic improvement compared to the noodlestopper, and a great addition to the display cabinet. I don`t plan on collecting all the hashira, but only the ones Noshi liked as well in the anime, and this lovely little lady was definitly one of them.

Unboxing Nendoroid Marin Kitagawa

Marin oooh Marin. The uber-otaku waifu of My Dress-up Darling has finally arrived in my collection (though more are following), in her Nendoroid form.

Nendoroid number 1935, she comes with a heap of sweet accessories, so which one will I pick?

Well, as you can see in the below video, apparently the hardest one.

But all that apart, she is a lovely figure. Her details (the earrings for example) are well executed and the hair has that same natural flow in colour as she has in the anime.

Truly a nice Nendoroid, and one that happily goes in the display cabinet!

Here we are, already at the halfway mark of this year!

Unboxing Police Uniform Ichika Nakano

A recent cheap find over at Ami-Ami's pre-owned section, another Ichika joins the collection.

A prize figure, she is made by SEGA in their excellent SPM range, and one I didn't manage to grab when she was in the crane game apps I play.

So let's unbox the lady and have a look!

Definitly a nice figure, and with some great detailing. She will look well on my shelves for sure, and over time more iterations of her will join the collection!

And she can cough me anytime ;-)

Unboxing another Lunamaria Hawke DX figure

Mandarake has been good to me the past few weeks, as this is the third scale figure of Lunamaria popping up in their second hand section that I missed in my collection.

And this time it's the Banpresto range of DX figures again, the variant of her in her undershirt. The box was labelled as damaged but unopened, so for 400 yen, I went for it of course.

Now, this is the "derpy face" model of my waifu unfortunatly, and I grabbed her just because, well, I`m a collector and it is Lunamaria.

But definitly not one of the better models of her, and she will end up near the back of the cabinet in all honesty.

Now to await my next one to arrive!

Unboxing My Hero Academia Hawks

Hawks, the savy, cool number 2 pro-hero.

Who doesn`t like this guy with a dark past in My Hero Academia?

Well, I`m cool with him, so when I grabbed his Amazing Heroes line figure over at Tokyo Catch, I really want him to have a nice place in the cabinets.

But let's have a look at the model:

He is posing heroically, and the wings give him some serious volume to boot, so yes, that is one great figure!

Unboxing Gundam SEED Destiny Lunamaria Hawke Destiny Heroine DX

It seems 2023 is going to be a good year for my Lunamaria collection, as this is the second larger scale figure I obtained this year.

It came as a second hand with damaged box from Mandarake, but at 1000 Yen, I bit the bullet considering how hard it is to find figures of her.

She arrived at the beginning of march, so let's have a look at yet another "heavily damaged box" and unbox her:

So that is another great addition to the shrine, and slowly and surely at least the larger figures are being gathered together. The harder part will be all the small scale trade figures from gachapon and blind boxes though, but that keeps the chase fun.

Because face it, collecting is not only buy it now, it is mostly also about the thrill of a find!

Unboxing My Hero Academia Denki Kaminari

Finally I have him, my favorite student of class 1-A, thanks to TokyoCatch.

I grabbed him near the end of last year, and he arrived safe and sound at the end of february.

So let's unbox this figure!

A truly good looking model, in a fun dynamic pose if you ask me. He is one of the more enjoyable side characters of the series, and to be honest often seems overpowering as well if he is "on his game"... before turning his brain to mush for a period.

But, he took the place on my home office desk now instead of Yamcha, because you need to change every so often after all... and he is just great!

Unboxing Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash Gigi Andalucia

Aaaaah, the classy lady from Hathaway's Flash, whom I won over at TokyoCatch has arrived.

Miss Gigi Andalucia herself, produced in the Banpresto Glitter and Glamours line.

I always love when they get Gundam figurines in the crane games, as that is not something that happens frequently, and then try my best to get one, like last year with Lala Sunue, and now with Miss Gigi.

So, without further ado, let's open those seals and have a look at the figure!

And that is a winner to start the year with for sure. Gorgeous figure, excellent detailing for a prize figure, I`m one happy camper with this one for sure!

Unboxing Yotsuba the Bride

Okay, so I don`t perse collect the Quintuplets figures, but after seeing the movie I wanted a model of the one that became the bride.

And with the low yen, I picked her up really cheap from AmiAmi, even with import taxes added.

And as such, it is time to crack open the SEGA SPM figure, so here we go:

She is a really solid model, and looks good on the shelf. Though I`m not about to collect every sister in every version, this was for obvious reasons just one I needed to have.

Even though crane games permitting, some more might pop up left or right on the shelves of the various series of the sisters...

Unboxing Pop-Up Parade Zero Two

Oh how have I been waiting for this preorder to arrive.

Finally a decent sized Zero Two to go into the cabinets!

Because admit it, she is one of the hottest anime girls to appear on the scene in the past years, even more so if you are a mecha anime lover like myself. To that end, as soon as she appeared on Archonia for pre-order, I placed it.

And now I have her in my hands, so let's unbox this lovely lady!

A truly good figure for my collection. While I still hope they will re-release the jump suit scale version, that means that for now this version has to do!

Not that I mind, but one day, I want a true scale of her (and yes, she IS on my tattoo shortlist, probably to go on either the ribs, or the lower leg) to grace my collection.

Megahouse Lunamaria Hawke Haro Cap trading figure

It have been good times recently for the Lunamaria Hawke collection, as I obtained another trade figure for the shelf.

This time, the Megahouse Haro Cap series 1 version.

I obtained it from Japan, through an eBay seller, whom offered me a nice discount on top of it. So including shipping, it came to about 20 euro for this little lady to come to Belgium.

So, the collection enlarged some more now, and this is how it stands right now:
