Build Report: 41114 Friends Party Styling

This small set of the Friends range is one of those small animal based sets they've put out for the small change range, available at around 5 euro a piece if you look around a little.

These sets are great value is you look to bump the part collection for pastel coloured elements, and the kitten is a lovely little beastie to add to builds left and right.

Opening the box you get the small sticker, which I didn`t add to the piece during the build mind you, the instruction leaflet and a pile of about 50 elements

The kitten comes with a small party hat, and a fish is also included in the box.

The first little build we make is a small present for the birthday kitty, being a lovely bow tie in abox with printed lit.

The main build itself is made upon a lime plate of 6x8, with jumpers and a 2x4 magenta plate added.

A turntable base is then added to this for the rotating podium.

On this podium is a basin, based around pink macaroni elements and comes with a shiny golden tap.

This can turn around to where the mirror sticker should be placed, so you can switch between the basin and a mirror for grooming the kitten.

The invitation tile is also a printed element.

Decorations are then added to the build, like a broom, bottle, a balloon and such likes...

We get a few extra pieces as usual in the set

And the build stands completed:

As I said in the beginning, these little boxes are great for the parts, and the kitten is a welcome addition to the collection.  The benefit they are often on sale at 3 for 2 and the likes in Kruidvat only adds to their attraction value...

Build Report: 41092 Stephanie's Pizzeria

A small Friends set today on the menu, as we take on this 80+ part set from 2015.

Now, I actually bought this because it came with a 2+1 action in Kruidvat, but parts are parts is it not ;-)

Opening the box, we get two bags of parts and the instruction booklet.

The Stephanie minidoll (whose hair has already found it`s way into a Harry Potter moc btw) comes with a sweet torso print.

And she sports her pink helmet of course to deliver pizza's.

The first thing we build is her scooter, which is based on a large central mould.

A white carry basket is then added at the back of the vehicle, made up of corner elements.

A small and simple table is next, including a ready pizza and a nice bottle design.

Of course, some seats have to come with the table.

We are then putting together the pizzaoven, based on a tan 2x4 and some masonry bricks.

This is build up, and a rowing paddle serves as the pizza "spoon" to put it in and out of the oven.

The final thing we build is the restaurant front, starting on pink rounded plates with the phone to take your orders.

Quite an expensive pizza if you ask me though...

The top is made up with curved slopes, and the front is completed.

Of course, a few extra parts came with the set.

And the full set completed

With the hairpiece, the masonry elements, the printed "money" and the basic bricks in rather neutral colours, this was actually a good buy all things considered.

Next week, there won`t be a build report, as I`ll be on vacation, so see you again in two weeks!

Build Report: 41017 Squirrel's Tree House

This weeks build report tackles one of the first series of Friends " pet set" bags, the Tree House for the lovely Squirrel pet figure.

Retailing around 5 euro back in the days, they are rather sought after by collectors I found out recently, and I'm one of the fans of the little series for the parts and "cute" animals to use in moc's.

Released in 2013, this 41 part set comes with a pile of bricks and the instruction booklet, just like "regular" polybags tend to do.

The "star" of the set is of course the squirrel itself, with it's lovely blue bow-tie.

It also has a plate with some snacks, because your little companion needs to eat of course.

The build starts on a lime coloured plate, to wich a long inverted brown slope is placed to serve as the basis to build around.

The base of the tree is made up of several reddish and dark brown slopes.

A platform, again in lime, is added on top of this, and serves as the floorplate for the actual tree house.

A small scaling ladder is connected to the front of the platform, allowing easy access to the small hut.

The two side walls are mirrored builds, and connected to the base platform by means of clipped elements.

And the little set stands completed:

Now, I like this little set not only for the squirrel, which was a new figure back in 2013, but the colours of the parts included.  Even though it uses mostly brown and greens, the few colourful elements add to the Friends feel of happy looking builds.
