Build Report: 241502 Flamy the Fox

A small build report today, as we tackle one of the foil packs that came with the Elves magazine.

Flamy the Fox is a small 12 part set featured around the little fox pet from the range.

The build begins on 2 plates of 2x3 in Tan.

A slope and some magenta elements are then added.

A bottle and some details are then added to the little nest for the little fox.

All that is then left to do is add Flamy and his brush to the build and we are all done.

It is a nice little foil pack, as the Elves pets, which are fantasy style models of the Friends range, are pretty nice and cute.

Build Report: 41071 Aira's Creative Workshop

Everyone knows I like the Elves range, not only because I believe them drop dead gorgeous, but also for the excellent parts and colours in them.

And today I'm reporting on the build of the smallest set of the initial wave (not counting polybags), Aira's Creative Workshop.

The story behind it is that the Wind Elf, Aira, has a small workshop where she is tinkering to build flying devices, so opening the box we get a few bags of parts and a small instruction booklet.

The set comes with a minidoll of the titular character, as well as a parrot companion and one of the excellent map tiles, whom I've used in many a moc so far.

The set consists of a few different pieces of furniture, and we start with a desk build first, based on a tan plate as it`s base.

The sides are being build up, as this holds a large scroll with the history of Elvendale on it.

A drawer with a potion is then installed in the front part of the cabinet.

Now THIS element I love, a printed measuring tool.  Super handy for pirate builds as well, and it is attached to the side of the closet as we put scissors and writing equipment on it.

As a small in betweener, we then build a small step where she will be trying her flying device from.

The third furniture piece is an window frame build.   This is build up to a certain height using arched elements.

The top features sloped points, connected with tree branches to show the "organic" nature of the Elven structures.

Finally, a niece printed round tile is added in between them to round out the build.

A cookie slider is inserted at it`s base... and the window piece is completed as the parrot sets down on it.

All that is now left to build is her flying machine, which uses a sort of clockwork mechanism including wind up bar to allow her to fly.

The full set stands completed:

And we got a nice selection of additional parts as well:

All in all, this is a nice little set which was especially great value for money last year when Kruidvat had them on clearance (I paid around 7 euro each, in a 3 for 2 price action to boot, so that was 3 of these for 14 euro at the register... nice!) it was a great moment to stock some up for the arches, the golden wings, the printed parts and the parrot.

Build Report: 41171 Emily Jones and the Baby Wind Dragon

The smallest set of this year`s Elves range that came out beginning of the year, this is a nice little thingy.

The theme has moved from elemental keys into elemental dragons, and both the dragons large and small are truly gorgeous things to behold.  I already was a fan of the theme, and I am more so this year.

The small box contains an instruction booklet and two bags of parts.

Figure wise, there is one minidoll in the set, being the non-Elven girl Emily Jones.

She comes with a basket of berries, and something I really loved... a printed bar of chocolate!

And then there is the baby Wind Dragon, who is moulded with translucent parts so the light can fall into them and create a bit of a light up effect.  The dragonbaby also has it`s large dragon egg, and improvement over the ones in Galaxy Quest and esier to open due to the bigger airholes at the top, preventing it from sucking itself close.

The build itself begins on the humble 2x4 green plate.

Green curved elements enlarge the surface of the base, and a first layer of grey, to represent rocks is added.

The blue resembles the small stream and waterfall that comes down from the rocky cliff.

Another great element, these are printed round tiles with a shrubbery / moss design on them.

A turning platform is created and installed, making up the playfunction in this set.  Beware of slippery mossy surfaces when climbing up!

As we build up the rocks, pastel and transparent elements are added to bring in some contrasting details from the plain grey.

The waterfall is heightened as the build goes towards it`s "top level".

A berry tree and the platform to place the dragon egg on are then added, completing the rockworks.

As with any set, some additional pieces have been included

The dragon, the printed pieces... apart from the fact I love Elves for the pastel and trans-coloured elements, these are some nice little things that add to the build, and the range as such.  I also put together a small video on my YouTube channel to ramble about it for about a minute and a half, so feel free to look at that if you want.
