Too reliant?

Think we're very reliant on computers... Today, we couldn't use the computers cause of some back-end problems. So it meant that I totally couldn't work. All my data are in the computer. Email, only by comp. Some colleagues deal with computer systems, which definitely means use of computer.

Ended up having a longer lunch and chatting with colleagues in the afternoon. Not that we wanna slack but basically we couldn't do anything!

Too reliant? Good or bad.. hmmm

Musical

Think there are many many good performances recently... Kind of broke..

And now I'm wondering if I should go for musical next year. If yes, which one??

My Fair Lady?

Or Phantom of the Opera?

Phantom is famous and well known to be good, but quite expensive leh...

I've always liked My Fair Lady since young. Watched the musical on tv, have the soundtrack and I know the songs.. And it's cheaper too

Anyone interested? I can't decide..

Nice Quote

Recently, I copied a quote from my friend's msn nick and put it as my own.. Quite a number of friends have commented that they like the quote or can think of examples to relate to it.. So in case u haven't seen me on msn, here's the quote I shall share:

"To get what we've never had, we must do what we've never done."

I really like the quote. Think it's very true. Can't get things you want unless you do something about it.

Shall try hard to live according to the quote! Though it may be difficult at times....

Get to know yourself better

Got this link from another blog. Seems pretty true, does it?

Your view on yourself:
You are intelligent, honest and sweet. You are friendly to everybody and don't like conflict. Because you're so cheerful and fun people are naturally attracted to you and like to talk to you.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:
You are a true romantic. When you are in love, you will do anything and everything to keep your love true.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:
You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person.

The seriousness of your love:
Your have very sensible tactics when approaching the opposite sex. In many ways people find your straightforwardness attractive, so you will find yourself with plenty of dates.

Your views on education:
Education is very important in life. You want to study hard and learn as much as you can.

The right job for you:
You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.

How do you view success:
You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don't succeed. Don't give up when you haven't yet even started! Be courageous.

What are you most afraid of:
You are concerned about your image and the way others see you. This means that you try very hard to be accepted by other people. It's time for you to believe in who you are, not what you wear.

Who is your true self:
You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.

Venus and Mars

Been almost a week since I last blogged. Quite different from the last few weeks where I blogged a lot… Guess nothing as exciting over the last week…. Just recalled 2 interesting conversations with friends which I could blog about!

-----

Dating Etiquette:
Was talking to a friend who’s a matchmaker. She was commenting that many guys nowadays are not as gentlemanly. They don’t offer to help buy drinks or fetch the girls home if they drive. It seems different from what she used to encounter when she was younger. Guys would send girls home even if it were out of the way, or at least offer.

Another point made quite frequently was that it could be quite frustrating if guy might be interested in a gal, but just doesn’t want to do anything about it. Not even to attempt to get to know the gal better. Well, I could understand that slightly. Maybe the guy's afraid of failure. However, in front of that gal, the guy doesn’t even try to act more gentlemanly to create a good impression. That ain't very helpful ah...

Maybe you might ask, how about the gals?? Gals can take initiative too! Both of us agreed that girls can take initiative, but how far should she go? I guess there's still a limit...

------

Say or not to say:
Another conversation came from a friend who just married, but husband flies quite often. She commented that it's been hard but she doesn't want to say it out loud to the husband. She's afraid that it'll make her husband feel bad and guilty. That sparked out a discussion among some friends about what she should do. Most agree that one should talk it out tactfully with the partner because he might have misinterpreted her actions/behaviour. And it's also best to let the other party know how you really feel.

I guess it's a real contradiction that happens quite often in real life.. On one hand, one might feel terrible or upset and wants to share the feelings. On the other hand, one might be afraid to hurt the other party, so chooses to shut up and take the pain alone....

Terrible, ain't it? But what woud you choose to do? I dun think I know my answer...

Happy hols everyone!! Long weekend!!

Military wedding

Attended my first military wedding! Was very excited about how it was going to be. There were 4 pairs of swordbearers and all 4 didn't let the couple pass through without some obstacles. Wouldn't mention the obstacles here in case I need the ideas for friend's wedding.. muahahaha

Although military wedding part at a chinese dinner is quite a small portion only. Or actually it's just the beginning part where they walk in, I guess it's quite an interesting idea. Makes the dinner more memorable with the small 'tekan-ing'. Guess it's ok if the swordbearers don't go too far....

Find a military officer for hubby? Consider consider.. hahahaha

Sleep

Think I'm very guai this weekend.. Never reach home after 2am. By 1+ or 2+am, I'm asleep until the next morning 9 or 10+am... Feels so nice to snuggle in bed with nothing to wake up early for.

Love snuggling in bed... Even got time to daydream......

Been stoning my day away. Only watch tv... Attending military wedding later!

Realization

In less than 2 days, I realized that quite a few pple read my blog. Thanks to my previous post...

Don't worry. I'm fine... Maybe it's the haze... Or maybe.. hmm... =)

Anyway, I think I am going through my quarter-life crisis today. Thinking about what to study in again... I'm working in the line of HR and a bit of statistics. If anyone knows or intends to take up a graduate diploma or masters in these lines or business management, pls tell me hor.... I'm quite at a loss on what I should take up.

Need to find a way to keep myself employed and money rolling in. Got to feed myself and family if I can't find my sugar daddy...

Blinded

Why does the path ahead seem blurred?

What's at the end of the path?

When would the fog clear to bring me fresh clean air?

Should I stay put, move on or turn back?

Might need some rain to clear the haze ahead.....

Kuishin Bo

First time I went to Kuishin Bo japanese buffet. Can't say that I ate my money's worth, but good enough ba.....

Sashimi, prawns, crayfish, alaskan snow crab legs, noodles, paper steamboat, teppanyaki lobster.... All in my stomach! *slurp*

Found it very funny when they occasionally play the kuishin bo song and make an announcement for some food special, like candy floss, teppanyaki lobster, etc... The stupid song's in my head now...

Starlight Cinema

Starlight cinema.. but without stars. Definitely not on the nights I went.

First time I've been to starlight cinema. It's at padang this year. Quite a nice and interesting experience. The screen is huge! Sound system very good. Could sit, could lie down to watch the movie. Definitely able to talk to your companions during the movie.

Tonight's the last night of starlight. And also the end of my 1.5 weeks movie marathon. Watched 6 new and old movies in total. Crazy feat. And amazingly, found someone as crazy as me....

6 movies in 1.5 weeks. Wonder when I'll break this record...

1st snowskin buy!

I'm not a snowskin mooncake person. I've never bought snowskin mooncakes for myself to eat. But I've broken the tradition today! Went to taka mooncake fair to get mooncakes for my dept's celebrations. When we were deciding on what to get, I accidentally saw 'Bakerzin' booth and the mooncakes look really nice. Sounds very nice too, so we tried the 'sweet potato'. Not bad I would say. 3 other flavours caught our eye, so we asked to taste them. They were 'Pink Champagne Truffle', 'Malt Whiskey' and 'Lavender'.

In the end, I shared a box with my colleague, so I had 2 champagne truffle and 2 lavender. The champagne truffle tasted very good and I bit into pieces of white chocolate. Yummy! And the lavender mooncake really had a very nice sweet lavender taste. Really different from other flavours I've tried. The snowskin is also what my colleague described as 'marshmallowy'. It's soft and nice....

Shall slowly enjoy my mooncakes.. =)

Seychelles

I am watching a show on Banyan Tree Resort at Seychelles. It's so pretty!! The island is so nice.. The sea is so blue. You do not stay in a room, but a villa with jacuzzi and swimming pool that faces the sea.

Just checked out the website. It costs EUR$825 for 2 persons to stay in a Hillside Pool Villa per night!!!!

So beautiful... so expensive...
