Abstract

1,263,090. Suspending curtains. JAMES COLLINS (BIRMINGHAM) Ltd. Jan.27, 1970 [March 4, 1969], No. 11453/69. Heading A4B. A curtain suspension system comprises a hollow box section rail 17 with an upper end open box section 19 which locates suspension brackets and a resilient capping strip 40 and provided at its lower end with laterally projecting coplanar flanges 15, and a plurality of curtain hooks 44 each with an integral, flexible and resilient C-shaped runner portion which has a snap engagement over the flanges 15 so that the tips 42 of the C slidably engage the flanges 15. The suspension bracket may, as shown, comprise three parts 30, 31, 32 connected end to end by pivot pins 33. One part 31 is adjustable in length. The rail ends are closed by plugs 25 serving as stops for the runners. Two rails may be joined end to end Figs. 3 and 5 (not shown) by a block (22) inserted into the abutting rail ends and clamped by screws (23) accessible through the open box section 19.
