Abstract

917,397. Suspending curtains. BEER, H., and WEBER-HORISBERGER, E., [trading as AWEPA]. May 20, 1959 [May 21, 1958], No. 17198/59. Class 52 (5). [Also in Group XXV] In an arrangement for the detachable fastening of a rail-like body 1 to a flat fastening surface 2, projections provided on the rail base are adapted to face the fastening surface as to be invisible from outside the fitted rail body, and movably disposed clamping means 9 provided on the rail surface are adapted to make detachable engagement with the projections, the clamping means being substantially concealed by the rail body in the final clamping position. As shown, as applied to a curtain rail releasably secured to a ceiling, spaced clamping means 9 are rotatably mounted on the ceiling and are provided with wing portions 12 which are adapted to engage flanges 3, 4 on the rail 1. The sides of the wings engaging the rail flanges are partially screw-threaded, and the clamping means is rotatable by means of a part 13 which in the clamping position lies flush with one side of the rail. The ends of the rail are provided with a holder rail, Fig. 5 (not shown), which is engaged with the flanges 3, 4 and supports a pull-cord-return means comprising a part 17 or a corner part 18. The part 17 or 18 carries a roller 22 on a part for the pull cord, the roller being retained by the holder rail to which the part 17 or 18 is secured by a screw. Each part 17 or 18 is also provided with a bushed outlet 21 for the cord. In a modification, Fig. 10 (not shown), the rail is provided laterally of a channel for runners, with a part which allows incisions to be made in that part to enable the rail to be bent laterally.
