A runner for suspending curtains from a rail comprises a clip having opposed arms connected by a bridge 7, the ends 13, 17 being moved towards each other to grip the curtain when a separate fixing member 70 is inserted between the parts 15, 19, which have shoulders 33, 35, 37, 39 for sliding engagement in a tubular curtain rail 44. In modifications, the shoulders are formed for sliding engagement with an l-section rail, the rail engaging parts of the runner are formed on the fixing member, or the bridge is U-shape or has an embedded spring.
