Looks like the episode reflected back on the real life counterparts of their characters, especailly for Shigeru and Seika. We got kind of an open ending for more adventure but they dealt with the problem this time.

Oddly satisfying for the season finale imo. Seika and Shigeru kinda carried this anime in these past few episodes.

So, Shigeru and Seika did meet irl in the past, that was a nice and emotional moment.

Overall, I have mixed feelings about the show.
The first half of the series was a lot of fun, with plenty of hilarious and inventive comedy, plus interesting tidbits of characterisation sprinkled here and there.
The second half, on the other hand, was not really my cup of tea: it was pretty dark, with very little comedy, and plotlines that I did not found especially interesting or exciting.

Still, I believe I'll remember the show somewhat fondly thanks to Seika cute/clumsy antics and Shigeru nonsensical overpowered strength haha.

No risk ending, overall i think the melodrama kinda ruined this show for me, i was invested in the hero's story his and sister them and Seika but i really couldn't care for the rest, Shigeru being a Jesus figure got old very fast and Karina was a pretty bad villain, so yeah first episode was absolutely hilarious and entertaining but it went downhill from there just like the animation quality ( White Fox wtf?) went from good to okay to pretty bad in this last episode, which was pretty disappointing.

So yeah solid 5.5/10 i don't even expect a s2

So many anime are playing with the concept of "ugly outside, beauty inside", but this might be the first time that the "ugly outside" is objectively ugly, not just "awww I haven't get a girlfriend yet" level. I think the best part is that the "beauty inside" part actually mean that there are beauty inside everyone no matter how you look but you've to choose how you act to the others.

Needless to say that the weakness of this anime is the "epicfighter" in the title is not epic at all. There's probably not enough budget to make it epic.

Shigure is truly the embodiment of "don't judge a book by its cover" and through good deeds he earned good karma enabling him to live a good second life with people he helped before.

Yes there is not much epicness in it, but it is filled with wholesomeness. 7.5/10.

They didn't leave any hints for a second season, but they showed that Karina survived, which is actually good news, because she can't be considered a villain. Overall, I give it a 9 plus for the emotional component; it's always a plus when the characters evoke emotions.

And so we end with learning about Seika and Shigeru's meeting in their original lives and the final battle with Karina.

I've often seen series described on here as "better than they had any right to be." Hell, I've almost certainly used it before myself. I'm not sure I'd use it here, but it's close. On the surface this show with its silly and over the top premise seemed like it could be pretty forgettable if not downright awful, but it was better than I expected. I do think there was an over-reliance on special notes and the characters secretly knowing each other in the previous life moving the plot along. By the end it seemed like everyone knew each other and it was hard to keep track of who knew what regarding that. But the whole party had moments, perhaps because of that, and nobody felt like a forgettable waste just thrown in. There was pretty decent humor mixed in as well at times. I loved the gag where Hero Aldean had to scream his name every time it was said. But yeah, not bad at all. 7/10.

I haven't written my impression about the 11th episode so i will include it with the final episode as well

To be frank, i think the fact that all major characters excluding Kyoushirou, Reiya and Kajita had an encounter with Shigeru in their past lives is a bit cliche for a plot, you know when people say i can't believe we met here, what a small world, I do believe in fate and coincidences but this is a bit too much.

I'm not sure if Karina had an encounter with Shigeru before, but the man silhouette when she was talking about her past made me think that she did talk with him before.

I am so glad she wasn't actually Shratori Kyoko, people kept saying that over and over on forums so i was anxious and kept crossing my fingers hoping that's not the case, because she was an awful person who accused and framed ugly people of molesting her because she can't stand them, so there's no way she would repent and want to become friends with Shigeru whom is an ugly person, and since she's reincarnated and overpowered in her new life, wouldn't this be the perfect opportunity to enable and abuse her old habits even further since no law can keep her down?

Instead! it turned out Karina was Shratori Kyoko sister! what made me happier was the fact that she wasn't trying to avenge her sister! it turned out that she resented her all this time because she was getting blamed for her screw ups and messed up personality since they look alike!

Iraise my hat for the voice actors of Shigeru and Sarina! they did an amazing job delivering the perfect emotions and tones to their voice lines, they made me really excited as i was watching.

The graphics and motions of the fight cutscenes were great but i was hoping that the fight would take longer since it's a battle between overpowered characters

I am not sure if Karina repented after being defeated, but something tells me that she will keep on interfering in the future.

We finally got to see Seika's past, but i was hoping to see how did the AI incident that Seiji and Leese were involved in cause all their misfortunes, obviously it will be explained if the studio decided to make a 2nd season but the curiosity is getting the best of me right now, i am feeling tempted to read the manga so i think i will if i didn't get an news of 2nd seasons within the next 3 months

Great episodes and great anime, my final rating is 8/10

@MeguSae38 The second half also wasn't exactly as enjoyable as the first half, but I thought it was nevertheless a good addition because it gave the show more value than just comedy. Like, there was more to the backstory and friendship of the characters thanks to the second half, which made the overall message seem the more genuine.

This anime surprised me. I thought it was going to be the standard sleeper isekai of the season... But unfortunately, a few other isekais met that requirement (COUGH COUGH WATER MAGICIAN COUGH and this one had surprisingly good character development. This isekai wasn't bad, but the story wasn't too exciting. However, it still surpassed my expectations. 7/10 for me personally, but it really should get more attention than the other isekais of the season.

The final battle's conclusion was pretty handwavy and unintelligible, but I don't really mind for this show, since the focus is still on the characters and their relationship. We finally get clarity on why Seika was effectively homebound and secluded from most people, and we learn how Shigeru has touched all their lives in crucial moments to help them through difficulties. He was such a sweetheart with Seika :D

Funny and wholesome series, Seika-chan's cuteness and clumsiness carried the series, also Rizu is a very funny character (Maaya Uchida's voice acting is always a safe bet) but I liked all the main characters, Shigeru-san surprisingly is a great MC (mainly thanks to Suwabe Junichi who is a legendary seiyuu), the story is not something so original but it's not boring either, the animation wasn't always on point but basically we can say it was more or less fine. I appreciated also the OP.
For me is a solid 7, but I gave it 1 point more because of the good vibes of the show, really wholesome.

But it wasn't satisfying, due to alternate changes made from manga adaptation to anime.

In the manga final chapter, reveal an important critical plot, which Shigeru and Rizu discuss, it's not just about Kyoko Shiratori, but a non human character who was responsible for Seika's misfortune. But here, the scene change to Seiji was about to question Rizu, was interrupted by new Intel on the organization.

i still think she was wrong, he sealed off his sexual drive with that condition of pain and losing half his HP by being touched by a female. but he also sealed off another important part of the human condition, vanity. self-image. self-love. body dysmorphism where you constantly degrade your own appearance is a serious mental illness. he took his own dislike of his born appearance to extremes by quantifying his appearance in his reborn appearance. he is now so horrid looking that he is mistaken for a monster instead of a human being. if people don't even recognize him as human till their error is pointed out to them repeatedly... doesn't that make him inhuman in appearance? the exact opposite end of the spectrum from somebody who made their appearance godly, holy, perfect, sublime, supreme, perfect, ultimately attractive to all genders/sexes and sexual/gender orientations? instead of a beautiful god he made himself a disgustingly ugly god right?

Solid 4/5 on this show; definitely one of the more enjoyable Isekai I’ve seen.

It was good to see growth in all four of them from the beginning until the end; I highly doubt there will be a season 2, but the story we got was worth watching, and while there are hints of what is to come, at least it didn’t end awkwardly in the middle of anything significant.

Given how prevalent OP characters have become in the genre, it was nice to see a different take on the trope; he still had weaknesses and the fact he had to fight an equal gave a good challenge for him to face off with.

It was enjoyable. Seika carried the show for me. The rest of the characters are mostly boring. Karina at the end she next time she meets Shigeru she will make him look at her? So she's in love with him?

To be honest I figured there would be more to the Karina fight some type of resolution. Instead Shigeru just beats her in a fight and just abandons it like it never happened.

I figured that Karina would've changed her mind on attacking Shigeru and his friends once she learned that he was a victim of her sister too but by then she didn't care. Having said that maybe she will have a new take on her situation and instead of going after Shigeru to attack him maybe she will reach out instead since she also survived the fight. Beyond the fight I liked the background on Seika and it was confirmed that she was the girl in the wheelchair being bullied and it was also confirmed that she also met Shigeru in their original world. On that note I think she knows that Shigeru in their current world is the "traveler of the wind" from their original world but for some reason is keeping it to herself.

Overall I liked watching this series even though the storyline dragged at times. Also, the animation and character designs were decent but nothing special although some of the fights were well done. Since the ending was left open-ended with Karina surviving and more information discovered on Ordnung Spear I think a season 2 could happen and if it's made I'll watch it.

@Alfredo-Sauce The only problem is the manga ends with the final episode, chapter 32 equals Episode 12. And not to mention, you will notice there's a difference between both scenes.

In manga,Shigeru and Rizu discuss it's not just about Kyoko Shiratori, but an AI who was responsible for Seika's misfortune, but here, Seiji wants to question Rizu was interrupted by Intel on organization.

I see, I'm only going by the anime since I haven't read the manga and therefore I didn't realize that the manga is also over which is a shame since the ending was left open-ended and I would've liked to have seen future adventures with Shigeru and Seika. The AI bit sounds interesting and something that could've been expanded upon too, oh well.

The characters and premise are pretty unique. Looking at the job applicants, it seems that a lot of people go to that world but somehow there's no big news about missing people in the earth. Maybe the only thing that move is only their mind? Is that world just a fabricated virtual reality world? Does the AI development from Seiji's company has something to do with it?

Another interesting thing is becoming a god can mean nothing in this world, Special Note power can nullify that. This made me remember the merit and demerit system of Nen in Hunter x Hunter. Reeze's power to see the notes is pretty powerful and important.

The manga and novel seems to be already ended and they made this anime to promote the manga sequel.

Overall pretty good. I hope they make next season.

The first episode was great. It was funny with an interesting concept.
But as the episodes went on, I started seeing the usual annoying anime gimmicks.
Situations that give the main characters trouble and could be simpler if their communications skills were horrible. Something so simple as instead of the MC thinking to himself that Seika shouldnt blow her nose into his cape, he just say that outloud. Then he keeps so much important information from his party until something happens and hes forced to tell them.
The other big issue I had with this show is the writers over explained things that were simple. A show made in 2025 is explaining what AI is. And they kept doing that one a few times. Or the show would show us something or a character would say something with some subtext but the MC would hold our hand and explain the subtext as if the viewer is too simple minded to put the very simple pieces to gether ourselves.
My last issue is the story each episode was being told as if that current episode was the first one the viewer was watching. The explaing past events that just happened as if the viewer didnt start watching the show from episode 1. They wasted alot of time with that.
3/10. Only because there were some funny moments but i doubt i would rewatch this or watch season 2 unless the writers gave us a story that didnt hold our hands like a parent reading a bed time story to a child.

Honestly, the plot about Shigeru, the ugly guy who takes pride in his ugliness, is unique and interesting.
Seika’s backstory is also good.
However, this anime has poor graphic quality, a messy and inconsistent story.
Throughout the 12 episodes, I had to endure a storyline that made me feel embarrassed to even watch it. At first, I could put up with the cringy changes in Seiji and Seika, but I got annoyed when Leeds also went through a cringy transformation.
On top of that, Shigeru, who took pride in his ugliness, suddenly turned into a handsome guy in episode 11.

@Denkenisme I feel the same it completely betrayed it's potential. What's the point of creating a Story device that discourages him from dealing with women in general then turning it on the flipside and make Shigeru's entire vocation simping for Seika. It was downright embarassing it was like 20% of the show just standing there observing her from a distance... UglyMug-Epic fighter reduced to this women worshipping vomit. You can say: but his vocation was King-making Seiji, LOL how much time does he spend doing that, compared to calling Seika Pretty 3x every episode.

This guy offered his life as a protector to her, because she bought him burger meals with his own money......

The storyline for sure sucked just a convienient circle of characters which radiate from his past life, it cheapened the plot and made the whole thing feel fake.

I will say episode 8 was a bit of a detour some pretty decent animation, and the Uglymug actually kicking ass, but that of course was an anomaly.

The worst thing in a show like this is for it to go back on it's premise making him handsome, it really added nothing to the story and was completely unnecessary. I'd take watching 1 ugly shigeru fighting, than 200 seikas. They don't seem to understand that we actually like the character, and don't want to be thrown into another boring isekai classic subplot of doing quests for random women.

My full thoughts are a bit more graphic in my review here if you're interested.
