"Seasonal diversions"

"There are two seasonal diversions that can ease the bite of any winter. One is the January thaw. The other is the seed catalogues." -Hal Borland

I haven't any seed catalogues, but we do have a bit of a January thaw.

The boys, yesterday afternoon after work, in the muck.
I always shovel the middle for them, so they can roam around,
hence the sloppy mess surrounded by the diminishing snow banks.
 Nicki, checking things out.
 Derry
 Nicki again
And Derry, heading back inside.
Tomorrow is supposed to be quite mild, +7C, and Sunday +6C, before temps dip down again. I'll take it, even though it makes winter even uglier in the city, with all the grimy snowbanks. And I'm so thankful we don't live in St. John's,  NF, or the eastern part of NF, as they are in the middle of a blizzard right now, apparently, with up to 75 cms of snow expected by the end of the day. That's about 30 inches of snow, folks. Makes the approximate 50 cms (20 inches) of snow we've received since Boxing Day seem quite manageable.

So a quick update on the "Serenity" herbal formula I'm trying: I'm taking only half the dose, one capsule morning and evening instead of two. So it surely can't be the reason my body has felt like a wet noodle for a couple of days now--rather limp. (Usually I'm so tense, 24/7, that I feel like my shoulders are pulled up to my ears.) There is a nasty bug going around, and many at work have succumbed, perhaps my state can be attributed to germs.  :-p

And that's about all...It's been a mercifully uneventful week, and quiet in the house yesterday. Actually not too bad since Tuesday, though someone had a screaming fit (the girl, maybe) Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Short-lived, typical kid tantrum.

I'll wish everyone a good day...If you have sunshine, please send us some!

The boys are soggy for sure after that but you are a great mom allowing them to roam there. SO good to get here to see you. Been hard to find time. Did you join Twitter?

ooooo - muddy feet - what fun. :)

We had some sun, but it disappeared. We hate the short days of winter.

We are going to have 82 degrees here tomorrow. That is 17 degrees over normal this time of the year. Husband had to run the A/C last night and I think he will again tonight. Amazing.
Hope your serenity continues at home.

We got the 25 cm. of snow they were forecasting and now it's getting cold -25C with windchills feeling like it's -37C.

I can send you some sunshine - it's supposed to clear up tomorrow but I'm afraid the cold would come with it!

Hope it's not the flu! Enjoy your thaw...I'm jealous!

Love the pictures of the boys scampering about. They're so fortunate to have an outdoor space and a lovely one at that. The high here was 70F but it's been in the mid 40s or 50s otherwise with lots of rain and the rain comes back tomorrow. Hopefully, you're feeling more relaxed and coming down with anything. I heard that even with the flu shot people are getting it and it's quite bad.

Very cute pics of the boys. We got a bit of snow this week but nothing that stayed too long. Meredith hasn't been outside in quite a while. She does look out her windows and watches bird tv.

Hope your weekend is a quiet,

XO,
JC
