'Jawbone' Trailer & Paul Weller Music Video


Check out the trailer for 'Jawbone,' directed by Thomas Q. Napper and written by Johnny Harris. The film stars Johnny Harris, Ray Winstone, Ian McShane, Michael Smiley, Luke J.I. Smith and Anna Wilson-Hall. T.  The film also marks the soundtrack debut of musical legend Paul Weller, a sample and track from the film are below along with the trailer.

A former youth boxing champion, Jimmy McCabe (Johnny Harris), is a man desperately in search of hope, but looking in all the wrong places. When he hits rock bottom he turns to his childhood boxing club and the only family he has left: gym owner Bill (Ray Winstone) cornerman Eddie (Michael Smiley) and promoter Joe (Ian McShane). In a battle between fear and faith, Jimmy risks his life, as he tries to stand tall and regain his place in the world.

The film has a 12 May date for Ireland and the UK.

'The Sweeney' Remake Trailer

Trailer for film adaptation of 'The Sweeney' has gone online and is now below. Directed by Nick Love the film stars's Ray Winstone, Ben Drew, Damian Lewis, Steven Mackintosh and Hayley Atwell.

Based on the 1970s British police drama series of the same name, The Sweeney follows two detectives (Ray Winstone and Ben Drew - aka Plan B) from the London's Metropolitan police department.

'The Sweeney' will arrive in theatres on September 21 in Ireland and the UK.

Based on a novel by Ken Bruen it tells the tale of a reclusive movie star, who hides out from the world in a Holland Park mansion, hires a London criminal recently released from prison to be her bodyguard and handyman.

Production Commences On Scorsese's 'Hugo Cabret'

Martin Scorsese has begun production on 'Hugo Cabret' his first film to be shot in 3D. It tells the tale of an orphan boy living a secret life in the walls of a Paris train station. When Hugo encounters a broken machine, an eccentric girl, and the cold, reserved man who runs the toy shop, he is caught up in a magical, mysterious adventure that could put all of his secrets in jeopardy.

It stars Ben Kingsley (Shutter Island), Sacha Baron Cohen (Bruno), Asa Butterfield (The Boy in the Striped Pajamas), Chloë Moretz (Kick-Ass), Jude Law (Sherlock Holmes), Ray Winstone (London Boulevard), Christopher Lee ("The Lord of the Rings"), Helen McCrory ("The Special Relationship"), Frances de la Tour (Alice in Wonderland), and Richard Griffiths (The History Boys).

It has a December 2011 release date for the US.

The animated action adventure is the story of a chameleon with an identity crisis. The voice cast includes Johnny Depp, Isla Fisher, Abigail Breslin, Bill Nighy, Stephen Root, Ray Winstone, Beth Grant, Ned Beatty, Harry Dean Stanton and Alfred Molina.

Ray Winstone Replaces De Niro In Edge Of Darkness


The Daddy himself Ray Winstone has signed on to The Edge Of Darkness to fill in the shoes left by De Niro's exit.

The film which stars Mel Gibson as a cop who wants answers after his daughter is shot on his doorstep and uncovers a government conspiracy while investigating it. Winstone plays an operative sent in to clean up evidence in the murder of the woman.

Production Halted On The Sweeney Movie


Fox Searchlight has delayed production on Nick Lowe's big screen adaptation of The Sweeney.

Bosses are unsure that the $16 million remake of the British cult cop series will have international appeal, reports Variety.

Ray Winstone is lined up to play lead character Jack Regan, while soon to be an Inglorius Bastard Michael Fassbender was linked to the role of George Carter.

It is believed that producers are delaying production so they can attract big name stars, which would help sell the film outside the UK.

The original '70s TV show starred John Thaw and Dennis Waterman.

44 Inch Chest Adds A Few More


Sexy Beast writers Louis Melles and David Scinto new project 44 Inch Chest starts shooting this week with Ray Winstone, Ian McShane, John Hurt and Tim Roth already on board. Well Today the impressive cast added a few extra more as it's announced that Tom Wilkinson, Stephen Dillane, Joanne Whalley and Melvil Poupaud will join them. Former Advert director Malcolm Venville makes his feature debut on this story of a British gangster exacting revenge on his wife and her younger French lover.
