A slow one.

Hello again and welcome to Inso's World after what has been a very slow week.

Since the first five of the Veteran Tyranid Hunters were posted, I have not really been in the mood for much hobby time... especially seeing as I had the Summer Ball to go to on Friday.

Obviously, the Summer Ball is an annual event where our mess holds an all night ball with music, live bands, dancing, great food, a free bar, dodgems, fairground rides... the list goes on... So Friday night was very much a case of partying the night away with my wife and friends, having 'survivors' breakfast at aroung 03:30hrs and then taking the winding path home. Saturday was a very leisurely affair and today hasn't been much better but every once in a while, it does you good to chill out and be a slob.

So... what hobby stuff have I been up to?

Well... I have bulked out the replacement commission sculpt and I have been working on the remaining five bodies for the Veteran Tyranid Hunters. They are all at the same stage now... ready for the faces to be sculpted and the helmets to be cleaned up before the arms and packs are glued on:

In other news... I have had another distraction. A distraction so cunning that you could pin a tail on it and call it a fox. A third detachment for my army! Yes a third detachment. A detachment that will only involve four models. It certainly isn't a big detachment... but it is a very hard hitting one... so be sure to watch out for it in future posts.

I know... it's another very short post this week but I am hopeful that I will have some great stuff for the next post... which won't be on Sunday because... I'm off to the Silverstone F1 Grand Prix with my 'completely obsessed with F1' wife... so that will be fun.

Then of course... there is Cornwall, house hunting, mortgage seeking and cider drinking...

The wheels of life are certainly turning!

See you from the bullet train!

Lazy weekends.

I will be the first to admit that this weekend has been a lazy one. A quick trip into town to post some parcels and another quick trip to get some lunch because we just couldn't be bothered to prepare any ourselves.

The children were out so when they got home... they cooked their own dinner.

...and this morning... a lie in!

Why so lazy? Well Friday was the summer ball and my wife and I put on our glad-rags and went out to party:

It was the first time that the two of us have been to a formal event together so we got dressed up and put on our dancing shoes and had a great time. Even tonsillitis couldn't stop me (although I did wimp out earlier than I would have liked due to a distinct lack of air).

The theme for the evening was 'Best of British' and there was all sorts of different food throughout the night to reflect it; from fish and chips to pie and mash, from smoked salmon and oysters to roast beef and pork. Around the event were coconut shies, bumper-cars, old style telephone boxes, classic cars, deck chairs and all sorts of Brit-centric items. The alcohol was included in the ticket price, as was the food and entertainment. Speaking of entertainment, there was a Beatles tribute band, a Queen tribute band (the wigs were PRICELESS!!!), a disco and a string quartet during the main dinner.

It was an excellent evening and I am determined to go to a few more events now that I have the correct uniform.

KITTENS! I have obviously been going on about kittens at work too much because a friend f mine has just become the owner of a cute little black and white kitten called Tizz. It is funny because, as I am typing, I have my resident lap warmer on duty:

Yep, Charmmy is taking up her usual spot and preventing me typing as quickly as I could if I could use my left arm too.

I slept really well last night.

Maybe the break is doing me good.

See you from the chair in the corner!
