Sedition

This has gone beyond crazy.  This is sedition.  Period.

With a fresh presidential pardon still warm, former national security advisor Michael Flynn has called on Donald Trump to suspend the constitution and declare martial law for the military to run a new election.

The retired general tweeted out a full-page ad that ran in The Washington Times that claimed the extraordinary executive actions were necessary to avoid the alternative of an imminent "shooting civil war”.

A day after Mr Flynn tweeted out the calls for martial law, Mr Trump published a 46-minute video to Facebook calling on the Supreme Court to overturn the results in the key swing states that delivered the projected victory to the Democrats.

He also suggested a "re-vote" be held, as had been suggested in the ad on Tuesday that called for the military to run the re-lection.

What's should the response be?  Keith Olbermann puts it succinctly:

Honor.  Decency.  Integrity.

Arrogant.  Doltish.  Dishonest

Enough Already

Rudy "the clown" Giuliani, wiping away his sweaty hair dye, held another goofy press conference full of discredited assertions yesterday.

Does Rudy have no friends who care enough to tell him he is making a fool of himself?  Clearly there aren't enough republicans available since they continue to genuflect to the narcissistic trump.

The moron-in-chief trump continues to deny the results of the election.  His refusal to allow a smooth transition, the first in the history of the country, is causing a security risk to America and disruption of Covid plans.  Based on this iniquitous transfer of presidential authority, America can never again chastise the elections of any other country.

Enough already.

North Dakota Stupid

North Dakota has recorded the world's highest Covid mortality rate and after months of resisting ordering wearing masks republican Governor Doug Burgum has relented.

This bears repeating:  the world's highest Covid mortality rate.

Yet one North Dakota moron sheriff is refusing to enforce the mask mandate

For whatever asinine reason, in refusing to enforce the mask mandate, Stark County Sheriff Corey Lee  is putting lives at risk.  Lee is not alone.  He has been joined by a number of other North Dakota sheriffs,  including Hettinger County where my family is from.

I grew up in North Dakota and, as much as it pains me to say, this is North Dakota stupid plain and simple.

The Tip Of The Iceberg

It's been a rough two days here on the farm.

Monday night it started to rain and freeze.

At 6:00 AM Tuesday morning the area power lines gave way under the ice and the power went out.

A call to the Rural Electric verified that we better plan on a long power outage.

Lucky for us we have a truck camper tucked away in the big shed with the antique cars.

So, off we went and fired up the farm generator.

We spent Tuesday in the truck camper watching videos and staying toasty warm listening to the sleet hitting the metal shed.  Later that evening the power came back on only to go off again this morning as they were working on the power lines.  This morning we assessed the damage.

Tree damage was extensive.  The most we have ever had since being on the farm.

The weight of the ice was too much for many of the older trees.  We spent most of today removing the larger branches with the tractor and that was only the tip of the iceberg (no pun intended).

Saving The Barn

Back in August I had posted about the barn here on the farm and the aging roofing tin which leaked (link).

The main problem was the shorter sections of tin that were used when the barn was built which created a number of section splices that were lifting.

We decided to go ahead with replacing the tin and in a matter of one day a crew of six workers completed the job.

The original four foot panels were replaced with eight foot panels, thereby eliminating the splices that popped up in the wind and leaked.

Later this week another crew will come to the farm and construct an aluminum soffit and wrap all the trim in aluminum.  With these repairs this barn should last another 100 years.

Leave

Those of us who are old enough remember this well.

With what will inevitably be the election of Joe Biden as president, our national nightmare of four years will be over.

Except, that is:

This psycho will not concede and is taking a scorched earth approach.  The question is whether he will actually leave the White House.  The answer is simple:

Have the U.S. Marshalls drag his ass out.

All For Photo Ops

As if the Covid spreading drive around-the-block motorcade at Walter Reed wasn't enough, the Orange Man decided to do an arrogant commercial by leaving the hospital early, putting everyone around him at risk.

Not only was the return to the White House pre-planned to take place at exactly the time of the national news, pre-empting the national news, it was staged to do a commercial at the White House.

This virus spreading moron took off his mask to do a phony salute of Marine One and then went in and out the door several times to make sure the video made him look stoic.

This highly infected dipshit is forcing dedicated federal employees and military to choose between their jobs or risk contracting Covid.  All for photo ops.

More Around The Place

Today more tree planting.

Afternoon beer break around the fire pit.

Plenty of trees to trim here on the farm.
Think we have enough wood for the fire pit?

Around the farm

Old iron (art?)

The coop needs painting.  Again.

Henry and Doug the Pug.  RIP.

Around the place.

That's it for more around the place.
