Abstract

Description
本發明是關於一種顯示器,特別是包含不規則形主動區域的顯示器。
用以呈現畫面的顯示器可包含在一矩陣內排列成列與行的多個像素。這些像素的每一列透過一閘極線(或掃描線)而耦接至閘極驅動器,而這些像素的每一行則透過一資料線(或源極線)而耦接至資料驅動器。所述的閘極驅動器透過其個別的閘極線來選擇多個目標像素的相應列。所述的資料驅動器則透過其個別的資料線將資料提供至所選列中多個像素的相應行。

- 如請求項1所述之顯示器,其中該不規則形主動區域包含以下一種形狀:三角形、圓形、半圓形、菱形、斜方形、平行四邊行及四邊形。
- 一顯示器,包含: 複數個顯示單元,每一顯示單元包含: 一不規則形主動區域; 複數個像素單元,於該不規則形主動區域內排列成列與行; 複數個第一閘極驅動器,各用以掃描該些像素單元的一相應列; 複數個第二閘極驅動器,各用以掃描該些像素單元的一相應行;以及 一資料驅動器,用以提供資料給該些第一閘極驅動器與該些第二閘極驅動器所選的一像素單元。
- 如請求項11所述之顯示器,其中該些第一閘極驅動器的每一透過一相應第一閘極線而掃描該像素單元的一相應列,及該些第二閘極驅動器的每一者透過一相應第二閘極線而掃描該像素單元的一相應行。
- 如請求項12所述之顯示器,其中該相應第一閘極線在一列方向中延伸。
- 如請求項12所述之顯示器,其中該相應第二閘極線在一行方向中延伸。
- 如請求項12所述之顯示器,其中該資料驅動器透過串聯連接該主動區域中所有該些像素單元之一資料線,而提供資料給一像素單元。
- 如請求項15所述之顯示器,其中該資料線由一行到另一行穿過該些像素單元而在一行方向中延伸。
- 如請求項16所述之顯示器,其中該資料線由一列到另一列穿過該些像素單元而在一列方向中延伸。
- 如請求項11所述之顯示器,其中該不規則形主動區域包含以下一種形狀:三角形、圓形、半圓形、菱形、斜方形、平行四邊行及四邊形。
- 一種驅動一顯示器的方法,該方法包含: 提供一顯示器,其包含在一不規則形主動區域內排列成列與行的複數個像素單元; 利用與該些像素單元列相關的複數個第一閘極驅動器以及與該些像素單元行相關的複數個第二閘極驅動器來選擇目標像素單元;以及 透過串聯連接該不規則形主動區域中該些像素單元的一資料線,將資料提供給該所選像素單元。
- 如請求項19所述之方法,其中選擇目標像素單元包含: 利用該些第一閘極驅動器掃描該些像素單元列;以及 利用該些第二閘極驅動器掃描該些像素單元行。
