Abstract

En la presente se describe una planta mutante, de origen no natural o transgénica o parte de esta con expresión o actividad reducida de asparagina sintetasa, donde dicha asparagina sintetasa comprende, consiste o consiste esencialmente en: (i) una secuencia de polinucleótidos que comprende, consiste o consiste esencialmente en una secuencia con al menos al menos 90% de identidad de secuencia con la SEQ ID NO:1 o al menos 72% de identidad de secuencia con la SEQ ID NO:3 o SEQ ID NO:5 o SEQ ID NO:7; o (ii) un polipéptido codificado por el polinucleótido establecido en (i); o (iii) un polipéptido con al menos 78% de identidad de secuencia con la SEQ ID NO:2 o SEQ ID NO:4 o SEQ ID NO:6 o SEQ ID NO:8; donde la expresión o actividad de la asparagina sintetasa establecida en (i), (ii) o (iii) se reduce en comparación con una planta de control.
