Abstract
En un aspecto, se proporciona una célula vegetal de origen no natural o transgénica, mutante, que comprende: (i) un polinucleótido que comprende, consiste de o consiste esencialmente de una secuencia que codifica un miembro de la familia CLC de canales de cloro y que tiene al menos 60% de identidad de secuencia con la SEQ ID NO:1 o SEQ ID NO: 2 o SEQ ID NO: 3 o SEQ ID NO:4 o SEQ ID NO: 10 o SEQ ID NO: 11; (ii) un polipéptido codificado por el polinucleótido establecido en (i); (iii) un polipéptido que comprende, consiste de o consiste esencialmente de una secuencia que codifica un miembro de la familia CLC de canales de cloro y que tiene al menos 60% de identidad de secuencia con SEQ ID NO: 5 o SEQ ID NO: 6, o SEQ ID NO: 7 o SEQ ID NO: 12 o SEQ ID NO: 13 o SEQ ID NO: 14; o (iv) un constructo, vector o vector de expresión que comprende el polinucleótido aislado que se expone en (i); y en donde la expresión o actividad del polinucleótido o el polipéptido es modulada en comparación con una planta de control y en donde los niveles de nitrato en la planta mutante, de origen no natural o transgénica que contiene la célula vegetal mutante, de origen no natural o transgénica se modulan en comparación con la planta de control que contiene la célula vegetal de control.
