Explorations of Guilt, Regrets, & Desire (and learning to let go of them).
Manga
Grief is of my favourite media tropes of all time. Manga depictions of how we confront our shadows, embrace forgiveness, and find freedom in letting go. Some of these explanations are spoilers, so if that makes you uncomfortable please change the format of the list!

Perfectly tackles the psychology of losing a loved one, and the struggles of dating said love one's partner, people are turned off about this "taboo" setting but it was handled excellently. This was a common practice in Asian communities too sooo....

Spoilers;
Complete breakdown of the psyche. Phos is burdened by guilt for their perceived failures, particularly their inability to protect others and the tragic loss of Antarcticite during the Winter Arc. Each failure etches deeper into Phos’s psyche, further breaking who they originally were. The more information they learn the greater corruption occurs, both psychologically and within the gem society.
Resentment later pushes them to a literal breaking point, causing harm to those they care about, which snaps them back into logical thought. This Manga allows Phos to have a plethora of time to process and assess what their next action would be. Both lead to suffering, but will it be forgiveness or eventual hatred?
"I'm sorry I was never able to understand you."
I highly recommend this YouTube video in relation to Forgiveness.

Constant tension of not only fear, but the guilt for being reduced to a wife of a "monster" voted by the entire village (including your own family) abandoning you for sacrifice. VERY realistic portrayals of doubt and regret, as well as mutual fondness between social outcasts.

Great melancholy about how repressed and hidden feelings mixed with sexual desires that stem from them can ultimately jump into something desperate and terrible. It's tragic. The life-long atonement to remind yourself of the guilt from the past is both sweet and horrific.

Great portrayal of overprotective parents and the long term effects of the trauma associated. I found the later half underwhelming like many others, but the ending was interesting enough to push discourse. Will have to binge this in the future.

Touched on between Nanachi and Mitty quite often.
Surviving the experimentations produced by Bondrewd lead Nanachi to develop heavy survivors guilt after witnessing Mitty's death/destruction. Later is required to come to terms with the fact Reg's cannon might be the only way to free her from suffering and aid Nanachi in moving on, deeper into the abyss with Riko and Reg.
In a later arc, technically Mitty is seen again, which distraught Nanachi once again...
Heavy exploration of generational pain and desire through Irumyuui and Faputa. Born from Irumyuui’s suffering and sacrifice, Faputa embodies the unfulfilled longing for justice and the desire to reclaim dignity for her mother. Unlike Nanachi, whose guilt fosters quiet sorrow, Faputa’s pain manifests as rage, a relentless drive to destroy the village of Ilblu and the beings within.
Her desire is not merely for destruction but for completion—to fulfill the role she was created for.

"Linda" is the personification of the emotions associated with the hopeless longing of adolescence, the scenes and yearnings that have passed but which could never be attained, and the lingering scent of "those days" that remain stuck to us even after we become adults.
The innocent feelings we had bottled up in our silly childhood embarrassment were branded into our hearts, leaving behind indelible scars. They were too heavy, bitter, and painful to be called "memories," and the more glorious the past, the more they became a poisonous fang that cornered us.
Perhaps we must continue to live with the awkwardness of carrying that one regret, that longing for one person, as an incurable curse. No matter how passionate we get, no matter how loud we sing, we will never reach that day.

complexities of beauty, identity, and the lengths one might go to fulfill their deepest desires, while facing the weight of guilt and the longing for forgiveness.
Her obsession with beauty and success leads her down a dark path, alienating her from genuine connections and trapping her in a cycle of lies. She frequently reflects on her actions, questioning whether achieving her dreams was worth the pain she’s inflicted on others and herself. Her regret also extends to the loss of her original self, as she becomes more consumed by the masks she wears.
Forgiveness is a central and complicated theme in Kasane’s story. She longs for forgiveness from those she’s wronged, such as her friend Nina, whose face she uses to achieve fame. However, she also wrestles with the need to forgive herself for her actions and choices. This internal struggle reflects her desire to find redemption and move beyond the shadow of her mother’s legacy, who also used the cursed lipstick to achieve her own dreams.

Guilt of dirtiness, from one's self or others. somehow within a few chapters touches on the complex nature of sex, whether from a societal angle, or just from the act itself, the perceived ugliness, pleasures, fears, etc. from a woman’s perspective.
Can be seen as an allegory for sensory disorders as well.

Tatsuki Fujimoto vibes. The perception of our emotions and the surrounding effect it has on people and places and how we deflect/dictate other's feelings because of own actions. Even self-pity to a degree.

Quoted from a user:
This manga is about the delicate crossroads of life and the losses we receive because of them. In the most humble and beautiful way possible, this manga explores these themes from all sorts of character perspectives with much consideration and life musing. This manga seems to reflect the sincerity of life and human relationships so perfectly.

Fantastic manga. It's light-hearted and sweet enough to be 'ammusing' but will also hit you with valuable introspection. First Love and Codependance is unfortunately VERY interlinked with another so I highly suggest everyone who struggles with themselves and relationships to read this!
Also makes a great aptitude to see how you are going in life!
