VIDIO early release.

Man right off the bat you can just tell this was a high-priority episode. Like, they did not need to go that hard on the character acting of Axel eating that popsicle lmao. Not complaining though, that just set the tone for the episode. This time around, we’re going to a night club! So yeah, makes sense why they made this one a high-priority, gotta make sure the dancing looks good after all. And boy did it look good. I wish we had gotten to see Leland (who’s a femboy this episode lol) dance more though, but meh.

Our goddess Christine made up for it though. And hey, we did get a little moment of Leland dancing, dude’s got some moves on him lmaooo. Back to why we’re even here though: we’re investigating this stockbroker who dumped all his shares into Hapuna before it crashed. They make it there easily... a little too easily, because this guy turns out to be a full-on weirdo who drugs all the girls there. Except our girl Christine though, because her badass self knocks the FUCK outta the dude. And that kicks off Team Lazarus doing what they do best: kicking ass.

And yeah, the action looked amazing this episode. You can see Chad Stahelski’s fingerprints all over it, especially that scene where Axel jumps onto the helicopter like a G. Everything after that is just Axel being the absolute G he is, successfully capturing the stockbroker bro... Well, maybe not "capturing" exactly, because Axel straight-up left him to DIE in the ocean, lmaooo. Still got arrested though, so technically a win.

Really fun episode. This is what I expected when I first heard about this series, and yeah, GIVE ME MORE LIKE THIS.

Best episode by faaaar. Chad Stahelski and MAPPA was a dream made in heaven. Wow this was amazing. Didn’t have the same philosophical depth and social commentary as last episode, but made up for it with the best action and probably the best produced episode of the entire season so far. Nice preview for just how crazy this show could get later on.

Wouldn’t be a spy thriller without the high end club/party scene. Vibes were immaculate, love the OST but the fact Leland ended up pulling more than Christine had me fucking dying lmaoo. Personally I’m folding if Christine whispered in my ear like that bartender, but he’s a stronger man than I. Sam being a date rapist was the least surprising thing ever, typical stuck up crypto bro who thinks he’s entitled to everyone. So glad Christine beat his ass and saved those girls.

The fight scene was just incredible man. Longest one so far and so fluid and well choreographed. This entire episode was just so well done.

“Donald McDonald” is such a ridiculous name dude, 909 being a regular nerd who knows nothing about skinner was a shock, but makes sense Skinner wouldn’t be that sloppy! The hunt continues. I wonder what’s going on with the primate at the end tho, some sort of pandemic?

Another good episode aside from the horribly cliché rapey pervs and only 1 got his ass beat and arrested.

It was fun seeing Axel and Christine fighting so well together.

While this may be the best looking episode yet visually, the writing comes off as so laughably amateurish that I can't even take it seriously. The bad guys in this episode are a prime example:

"I am a bad guy because I mistreat women, drug them, and take advantage of them! I am also a stock bro! My partner in crime also uses AI! We are bad guys!"

If you want to have characters that are sexist against women, break the law, or are fake artists in it for the fame and fortune, there are better, more nuanced ways of writing it. This comes off as if an inexperienced college student is writing this. Same as last week.

Have we even established what Doug, Christine, and the blonde kid even do? Doug seems smart and calculated, but hasn't been established as the brains or strategist of the team. All we know about him is that he drives and a someone in college said a racist thing to him once. Christine is supposed to be the hot woman, I guess? She doesn't seem to have any special skills, such as espionage or even detective skills. The blonde kid is just there to be a punching bag, I guess. And use the occasional drone.

I'm not even sure what this wants to be at this point, it just feels like it's checking off a list of bad things to criticize.

Oooh espionage in a night club. When team Lazarus learned their latest target was the sleazy ai tech bro Sam, the group's instant reaction of disgust was quite endearing.

Him and Donald were just full of detestable takes this episode. They'd fit in well with Internet ragebaiters. So it was satisfying to see Christine kick him off that balcony.

Looks like Lazarus is dealing with a shady pharmaceutical company next! I'm hyped.

Leland’s such a cutie as a girl—I don’t blame Axel or Visionary for their taste, but bro was acting like a creep.

Axel had some nice moves, especially during the fight scenes—how he moved around and used Christine’s baddie body to take out enemies without even looking. Some seriously impressive spatial awareness.

But unfortunately for our heroes, Sam and Visionary—who turned out to be Dr. 909 all along—they didn’t know anything about Skinner. Guess it’s time to get some information out of Delta Medicinal next.

It seems from the ending that those monkeys were the guinea pigs, and they’re dying in pain from the side effects of Hapuna. This is how, if Lazarus fails to find Skinner, humanity will die.

The most enjoyable episode so far but it's still not good, we still know almost nothing about the characters, nothing more than what was superficially established in the first episode xD

The mission in the club was cool but watching the confrontation with boring criminals is completely unengaging, although at least we got a few funny scenes.

Once again we see how stupid the premise is of a group of outcasts saving the whole world, nothing justifies this stupidity.

Ha seeing Leland cross dress as a girl reminds Assassination Classroom where Nagisa had to be a trap (even though he looks like a girl) to get close to his target. Poor Christine, nobody wanted to dance with her and Leland as a trap gets picked up instead. Gotta watch out for the rum punch because those guys be spiking those drinks that didn't work on Christine. That was some good fight choreography from the Lazarus team when everything broke down. Axel the risk taker keeps doing amazing stuff taking a giant leap of faith to catch that helicopter. Even with AI, insider trading is bad and now Delta Medicinal is the next clue after identifying the hacker Dr. 909

This is my favorite episode so far.

The visuals of the club and just the city in general were amazing. The fights were fun to watch, especially when Axel was chasing the helicopter.

It seems that Delta Medicinal will have an important part in the story, considering the final scene and they approved of Hapna.

I’m so sad I gotta wait a week for the next episode.

"So, to put it plainly, 909 had no connections to Skinner whatsoever"

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA, FOUR EPISODES IN, 0 ACTUAL STORY PROGRESS, ONLY 9 EPISODES LEFT! EPISODE 5, GIVE IT UP FOR EPISODE 5!

Yeah so this was a gigantic waste of time. Probably the most shallow tackling of the AI discussion I've ever seen to the point the average artist twitter rant has more substance, relatively expected considering the fiasco of last episode.
"I don't care about trading I just use AI, numbers go up" "I don't care about the music, the AI does all the stuff, I'm just in for the ladies" truly riveting analysis uh.
I laugh when the first idea they had to make the DJ a bad guy is making him straight up a pedophile lmao, that's one lazy way of doing it.
Writer was probably proud of his script when he made that helicopter go against his passenger because it's like the AI coming back to bite them but anyone who had consumed any piece of science fiction whatsoever knows among the 3 laws of Isaac Asimov the second one stipulates that no machine should ever go against humans order, but in Lazarus, one of the worse written show out there, it somehow does.

What this show manages to be constantly good at is fight choreography, even if I think the whole gun kata thing is stupid and straight up has-been taking inspirations from a literal 2002 movie, overall it looks dynamic and cool but there's not bigger immersion breaking scene than 2 unarmed dudes destroying a bunch of gun wielding guards in hand-to-hand combat without the guards trying to shoot even ONCE.

What even was the point of this? A comedy side story? The purpose definitely wasn't to developp the characters because they are as cliché as they were in ep1. Do you really think I'm surprised the blonde onee san is a badass? I was already aware, YOU ARE REDOING FAYE VALENTINE, AGAIN, WE CAN ALL SEE IT!

Point of this episode: Rich assholes celebrities abuse their wealth and power. WOW, I'm shocked Watanabe, really at the level of Jin's whole tirade about the value of honor in a unremarkable life but still acting selfless for others during the entirety of Samurai Champloo. Can you be more washed than this please?

@Fukoku Only time will tell—we can do nothing more than wait and watch how the story plays out. But Christine and Leland collected some kind of pill from Skinner’s residence in one of the previous episodes, so even if they don’t find him in time, I guess they can still make an antidote—if it even was an antidote.

I think this episode definitely had the best fight scenes/choreography so far, and it looks like the Lazarus team is taking a step in the right direction at uncovering this mystery surrounding Skinner now that Delta Medicinal is in their sights.

This was the best episode so far IMO. The action scenes were just off the roof (no pun intended)! The fluidity in the movements and the choreography were on point 100%! I also loved the flying chase scene between the buildings, that was awesome! And I have to say, it felt so cathartic to see those scumbags get what they deserved!

Oh, and everyone looked so nice in their clubbing outfits. ^_^

The animation is smooth and stylish, both at the same time, it's actually a big achievement that need to be appreciated more.
The music in a retro-style fit perfectly in this dancing episode.

And Axel has more interest in crossdressing guy is actually a big plus, even if he's probably just teasing his teammate.

First episode i had some fun watching.

The characters are boring, no purpose to any of them.
Plot moves at a snail pace, all they achieved in 4 episodes is "pharmaceutical company has a connection to Hapna/Skinenr" yeah no shit. They should have started the investigation here.

Bad guys have to be rapists of course, how else would we the audience know that they are bad guys?

I'd really like it if one of these shows set in a fictional future-ish world could just give the crossdressing guy a voice modulator or something. Honestly, the falsetto that they have the (English) actors do is tired after so many years of it being a thing.

My favourite episode so far. The best. The teamwork behind that chase was amazing. Every plan they made was so nice, and it worked for the most part. All the team members were doing their part, and it was the best. Christine looked amazing, and Leland looked cute as a girl. LOL. Doug's dance was hilarious. And, both Christine and Axel were badass. Also, they make a cute couple. I love them.

This was such a Ghibli-pilled episode, thanks to Akihiko Yamashita's involvement, and Hiroyuki Aoyama's AD work was excellent. It was such an incredible episode. Beautiful character animation and godly action choreography from Chad's team. Top-tier episode. So good. Although they weren't able to get the info. on Skinner, they sure got clues on him, which is a definite progress. Can't wait for more.

Also, loving the running gag of the Police Officer and the cat.

Probably my favorite episode so far. I like how this time we actually see them fully working as a team and not just duo dispatched here and there. They look for stuff, they exchange info, they cover each other, overall, a very interesting and well executed infiltration. And on top of that, the action was just perfect.
The bad guys are a bit on the nose but honestly, considering stuff happening in the real world, I wouldn't call them unrealistic sadly. And honestly, I see no problem with villain for only one episode not being complex.
I find interesting how this episode compare to the previous one. In the last one, we spent time with marginalized people and places with poverty being dominant, and in contrast, in this episode, very developed city with people that seems rich, clubs, investors. Again going to Skinner speech when he returned with the world not having fixed it's problem and conserving a status quo despite the new medicine. Kinda introducing more clearly the idea that our heroes, if successful, are only going to preserve a status quo.
I also appreciate the slow progress of the story, every new clue result in a failure to really find Skinner, but it still lead them to a new track to explore and also allows us to have a more clear idea of the ream stakes of Skinner plan and his real profile, and also making the overall track of Skinner more interesting.

The visuals, choreography, and music were really outstanding in this episode. Some real John Wick moments right before the helicopter chase too. Obviously, they were never going to get a direct lead to Skinner with it only being episode 4. I'm expecting at least 5 more episodes of not getting anywhere before it enters the real endgame.
