That's the bowling anime I know. They are united again in their real world and aim for victory. Definitely rooting for them since they've bene through so much.

The actual bowling part was filled with emotions too. This honestly felt like a climax finale just because of the emotional elements.

This score better come up substantially after next week’s episode. Holy shit man, today’s episode was awesome. We finally went back to being a bowling anime, but of COURSE it couldn’t be that easy. This show’s thrown twist after twist at us so you knew Kagetoki wasn’t gonna sit by and watch the girls destroy his plan like that. Can’t wait to see how they overcome things and save the princesses.

If the girls didn’t have the power of anime and friendship on their side, they really would’ve been better off just straight up fighting Kagetoki’s men rather than all of them having to get strikes. The likelihood of that shit happening is so ridiculous small lol. The impossible is just impossible until it’s done tho, our girls were almost there.

They clearly saved most of this show’s budget and heavy hitting staff for this and the finale because damn Sayuri and Nagomi’s strike sequences looked so good! Proud of Sayuri for stepping up first and knocking em down. Seeing the first 3 girls reflect on their growth and journey was really sweet too. I got chills.

“And I intend to keep my promise” yea after handicapping the girls and trying to ice them by tying the other girls up. It’s fitting it comes down to Mai and Rina here for the last strikes as the conflict with them was the driving force in the early part of the show. Mai has already lost so many people she cares about, so I imagine rina will have to do a lot to keep her focused and get across the finish line.

Last week I said we didn’t know if the princesses survived in the OG timeline, but then I remembered that the princesses are pretty obviously the girls’ ancestors so they must have survived. But if they got killed in that new timeline that was created when the girls went back to present day, how did they not get erased lol? Anyway, hype as hell for the finale

I knew they'd have to fight their enemy with the power of bowling!

They had a lot of faith that their enemy would abide by their rules... Really should have had some more contingency plans for sudden but inevitable betrayals. How much honor can you really expect from a lord whose primary source of information is an old man playing with sticks?

That Kagetoki was a real sh!t. A real real real a$$hole sh!t. Not only was he being cowardly by not competing in bowling by himself, but he was also playing cheat against those little girls. What a trash. He didn't have any honor as a lord at all. All he could do was win against a powerless person or a little girl. If he met a real warrior, I don't think he could do anything to them at all. Why so weak!?
Mai and Rina, you don't need to throw your bowling balls towards those pins anymore; just throwing your balls directly towards Kagetoki's head is better than.

Yuki Hayashi doesn't disappoint me but even counting this season alone his score for Sakamoto Days Part 2 is much better than this, maybe the difference in budget play a part too.

Oh my god… this writer is so bad. WHY ARE THESE GIRLS MASSIVE IDIOTS? They want a bloodless conclusion, no killing anyone with the power of bowling against unscrupulous opponents. I nearly put my foot through the TV, I’m fed up with anime insulting people’s intelligence

Lord Kagetoki is an absolute asshole just like that old bastard who apparently can see the future through some sticks I hope the girls beat them and beat the living shit out of them both.

Nanase's turn was pretty stressful, I liked that Kagetoki wasn't an idiot and decided that the girls must do a perfect attempt and then he decided to play dirty because of the old man and like sure use them as hostages but hurting Rina was too low.

Most intense game of bowling ever. I mean, I was expecting most to go well until Mai, but they still managed to keep the tension. Gotta give them props for that.

As for Mai, I assumed hers would have been the main throw for the obvious reason that her whole trauma is that she believes to be responsible for her parents' death so contrasting that by having her friends on the line (this time literally) would have made for a contrast to that moment. And then she either has to get past her trauma or repeat it.

But honestly, I shouldn't have thought that Turkey would go for such a simple move. Of course we need to up the stakes for the final episode by having some actual psychological warfare. As if it wasn't already that beforehand.

I am interested to see how cruel the shot will be for Mai next episode, but I am also sure that this will be a somewhat happy ending. Mai being alone in episode 1 could then either be them disappearing due to changes in timeline, them not having met in the new timeline and no one other than Mai remembers or everyone loses their fun in bowling after having to bowl with their life on the line. But I do feel (hope) that it will end on a more positive note. Though, that old dude is a wild card that could change things drastically next week again.

Also just as a side note, while she hasn't thrown this episode yet, I like the Rina character arc more and more. Was a bit more throughout the episodes and not being in only one episode, but she became a favorite character of mine.

Bro, How do you expect 5 high school girls to defeat a group with real swords? They are not Homura to get firearms, the only way they had to win was that, to attack their pride and challenge them in something where they could beat them.

Bro got baited. Epic trash-talking ftw, lmao.

But things were going a bit too well, so they had to adjust the handicap yet the stakes haven't really changed. Seriously looking forward to the finale.

I swear, I haven't felt this tense while watching an anime for a long while, and I felt that with the damn bowling anime?!
I hate this Kagetoki and his old ass counselor or whatever that bald turf is. I trust that Rina will be able to get the strike, but I'm really worried about Mai. I know she's probably going to surpass her trauma right there to save her friends, but it's still nerve wracking. I'm really hyped for next week.

People must be sleeping on this anime. Having this score be soo low is just an insult, I understand people may not like the concept or animation. But come on the story the characters and emotion are great. may not be a 7 but damn well not a 6

OP has a part where Rina saw Sayuri get slashed. I think Rina will fail to get a strike, and Sayuri will ultimately sacrifice her life for them in exchange for everybody's safety.

Wait, their plan was to literally ragebait the guy into playing bowling with them? And it worked? Lmao. I knew it had to end with bowling somehow. But I didn't think they'd do it like that. That was so fucking crazy. Imagine if the guy didn't take the bait and just straight up killed everyone there? That wouldn't have ended so well. Not having a backup plan was foolish even after they spent so long coming up with a way to save them.

That being said, this was the best bowling match in this series yet. Well, hard to call it a match but you catch my drift. It was very exhilarating, probably because something was actually on the line here. The chances of them fucking up were so high I panicked when Sayuri went first. I thought she'd be the one to go last and had the most chance of fucking it up. But she did well. Nozomi and Nanase too. That part was so good.

But then the Kagetoki guy fucked everything up using force. The stakes were already high. Did they really need to do all that preparation? This is why I said the plan was a terrible idea. So many things could go wrong. The girls would have to be the luckiest girls alive (or Kagetoki would have to be the dumbest) for that to work. Clearly, that isn't the case. So I'm really looking forward to what happens in the next episode, which is unfortunately the last. Mai is the least interesting character in the cast, despite being the main character. I hope she'll do SOMETHING in the last episode to stand out from the rest.

Anyway, this anime was a very interesting watch despite its flaws. It's a shame that it's already ending.

The trash talking was a bit hard to watch. Like obviously this show is silly, but there's limits. I was ready for a ridiculous win overawing the soldiers with future tech and I guess Nozomi's boxing skills, but the modern slang insults pushed even that suspension of disbelief too far. The final tableau of the sacrifices arranged with pins was kinda rad, though, even if it makes no sense.

@AkeZZZ he may be an asshole but you critizise him for actually being smart here. What you expected, for him to play the game he is not familiar with and so get a guarantee loss here? He agreed on their offer on try resolving things without bloodshed but it does not mean he had to put himself in disadvantage. The last change may be a dick move but it was still withing the agreement.

Plot twist, the fortune teller guy went into the future and killed Mai's parents as revenge.

I do wonder if Kagetoki will even honour the agreement if they win. If it would make him look bad not to, fortune teller guy can just say the magic 8-ball said they cheated or something.

I think that for whichever pins they fail to knock down they will kill the associated hostages.

I just can't stand any of the characters. I want to finish this anime up and move on. The story was somewhat interesting at the beginning but now it's just dragging.

On a positive note, I wasn't expecting the ending. Hopefully they save everyone from getting killed.

@TomuKun But considering that it'd be virtually impossible for high school girls to get a gun... Japanese public don't have them like stereotyped 'merkins do.
They thought they could get a straight forward challenge of honour and almost did.
Still it's a show about time travelling via a glowing bowling ball, let's not get too hung up on logic!

I'll give the show credit for how the episode ended. My eyes were rolling back so hard at the notion of five unarmed high schoolers taking on a group of merciless samurai armed to the teeth with swords, that I didn't think they'd let anything but Power Of Friendship happen. Instead they got a much-needed dose of "they effed around, they found out".

That said, after the smoke clears from the subversive elements, I think people are going to wish this had just been a show about bowling. It might not have been as unpredictable, but it'd have been vastly more fun.

Strange logic in this episode.

They had all the time to prepare. They could have waited for years, stocking up their skills with swords, get adequate armor, spears, build pipe-bombs (black powder or fertilizer and nails are not hard to come by), modern repeating crossbows, chainsaws (which would be absolutely terrifying for the enemies in this age), modern non-leathal weapons like pepper spray, phosphor bombs (as flash bangs), stun guns, high power laser pointers, heck they could even have get their weapons license and ordered modern hunting rifles or pistols (or more sophisticated assault rifles via the dark web)... as a plan B.

But okay, they were pretty much into plan A...
