nursery
i decided it is about time i share pictures of fritz’s nursery. it has been a work in progress and it’s still not exactly what i imagined, but it’s getting there. if we weren’t renters i would have loved to paint the walls but oh well. we love to sit in the corner and read to him, and the changing table is his favorite place to talk talk talk. lately he scoots all around the crib in his sleep so i had to take the bumper off. yesterday morning when i went to get him in the morning he had wriggled out of his swaddle completely and was laying across the crib with his little feet up on the wall. such a character. he just recently started noticing his mobile and he is mesmerized by it, especially if it is spinning. christian bought a little motor for it so it will spin for him. i have been collecting little nicknacks to spell out the alphabet (with a lot of help from my mom) and it has been a lot of fun. we got a few more things at christmas to fill in some of the gaps.
merry christmas!
we are lucky to be in phoenix this year for christmas, staying at a nice resort because my parents are remodeling their house. it has been a great vacation so far – christian has gotten in a lot of mountain biking, i’ve gotten in a lot of eating at favorite places, and frederick is being spoiled completely rotten.
frederick also turned three months while we were here. he is an amazing little guy. he gets more and more expressive every day and is generally a really happy baby. he likes to scream at night but it is easily forgotten when he flashes you his adorable gummy smile. he loves to look at the world around him and he loves being sung and talked to. his talking has evolved from grunts to an occasional ooh to some guh guhs, and now a combination of the three, plus sometimes a really loud HAH. we are still in awe of how cute he is!
birthday lunch with the baby brigade
yesterday i had a fun birthday lunch at (where else) the olive garden with what i like to call “the baby brigade”. all of the babies are so close in age, and they all live in the south bay, so i made a trip down. i know olive garden isn’t too high-class, but where else can you take 6 girls with 6 car seats? plus you can’t beat the salad & breadsticks. fritz was a champ – he slept the entire drive down, all of lunch, & all of the drive home. he also slept 7.5 hours the night before & let me sleep in until 9 – good baby! he must have heard it was my birthday.
we lined the babies up youngest to oldest for a great photo after lunch. thanks girls for a great time!
