tagged?
i guess i have ignored so many “tags” (i don’t totally get these things) that i am finally giving in and doing my 6 things. hopefully they are somewhat interesting, maybe not though.
#1: i am a sudoku master. really. i play it all the time when i’m bored and my times are always in the 99th percentile. i only like doing the easy ones for a good time. my fastest time is 56 seconds. lame, huh?
#2: i don’t dance. ever. it drives christian crazy. i told him he will have to secretly drug me if he ever wants me to dance. i’m not sure how it started, but i just know that i look like a moron when i try.
#3: i love sugar. any kind. i think i am like a cow and actually have multiple stomachs – one for real food and one for sugary food. and the sugary one is three times the size of the real one. no matter how full i am, i always have room for a few desserts.
#4: i love having people over. we got so used to spontaneously calling jim & kelly up to do things every night that now i feel weird hanging out alone all the time. i love when christian has people over for random food that he’s making or playing a dorky game, like settlers of catan or killer bunnies.
#5: i hate onions. in all shapes and forms. if i came to your house for dinner and you made me something oniony, i wouldn’t even touch it, sorry. and i hate when people are like “oh these are cooked so long you can’t even taste them”. yes i can. i am an onion sleuth, they never get hidden unless my dad puts them in the blender for enchiladas.
#6: i don’t really lose touch with old friends. whether it’s rachel from when i was 4, or jessica from 3rd grade, jennifer from 5th grade, or sarah from junior high/high school, chances are i still talk to them. or they come visit me multiple times a year. granted, it’s not everyone, but i’ve kept a lot of friends considering how long ago i moved away from them.
sleep talker
i just wanted to share a few hilarious things christian has said in his sleep lately. he was a big sleep talker when we first got married, but he stopped for a while and now he’s started up again. by the way, these are word for word – seriously hilarious.
woke me up to tell me this: “congratulations! you are the proud recipients of his and hers ralph lauren wrist watches with a retail value of over $40!”
two nights ago when i tried to wake him up because i couldn’t sleep (in a very proud voice): “did you see my skit where i was a rabbit who wrote my name in the sand for someone else? first one.”
yesterday morning: “i want to go befriend that bird and tell him to go wake up someone else.”
joyous noel
i went to paper source today and loved this sign. i saw them last year and i regretted not buying one, so i’m glad i have another chance. they are made from crushed vintage glass, which looks really pretty, and they say will oxidize over time and become even more vintage-y.
birthday?
i don’t think christian ever really reads our blog, but in case he does, i WANT this shirt for my birthday!
happy halloween!
happy halloween! we had a really fun night hanging out with friends, i am glad that although we’ve outgrown trick-or-treating we can still have some fun and eat sugar for hours. that is what halloween is really all about, the sugar. especially this jello brain with gummi worms in it (bonus!).
so here is how the work pumpkin contest pumpkin turned out – pretty close to the inspiration if you ask me! we came in 2nd, it is a sensitive subject since the winning pumpkin was super lame!
we also dressed up as a team at work as “cereal killers”, a last-minute idea but i think it turned out pretty cute. my team was too weenie to let me take a picture so here is one of the sad victims of our killing spree.
so the party at andy and emily’s was fun, my favorite was the couple that dressed as mexican wrestlers, also known as luchadors. aaron was seriously gutsy to wear black tights and shimmery panties sown by his wife.
