baby shower

julie, brooke, and i got the chance to throw a baby shower for our lovely friend amber a few weeks ago. brooke took these photos – i’m so glad someone has some photography skills since i never even remember to take out my camera for things like this!

it was really great to sit and enjoy delicious treats with such a fun group of girls. i think i ate 12 cucumber sandwiches, i could not get enough! we’re going to have a little gaggle of babies once adeline joins the group of babies down south!

Update

Sara gave me a hard time tonight for being behind on our blog, so here are a few things that are changing our world these days:

1) We are officially a hostel. Just kidding. We have our great friend Brendon staying for the summer while he suffers through his internship at Goldman-Sachs. He is a good, quiet house guest since he sneaks in after we are asleep and usually leaves before we wake up – poor guy. We still love having him. Having him here means that we get to see Taryn when she comes up to see him, so that is great too. Kelly & Jim also crashed at our place for the last week while they wait to move into their new place in Santa Clara. We love having people here – it means lots of good food, playing games, staying up late, and watching movies.

2) Christian got his nose fixed (again) and can now breathe out of both nostrils. I know it sounds unexciting but I think he finds it pretty life-changing. Before it was always just 50/50 and I liked to tease him at night by plugging his one good nostril. I am a bit sad that I will lose that source of entertainment,  but I really am glad that he can breathe better. Here’s an interesting picture of what they did to him today – stuck a long, metal thing all the way up his nasal cavity and then emitted microwaves – he said it was the worst pain of his life and also that his lungs were immediately filled with smoke – yummy!

3) We both got iPhones tonight. Ah, they are so dreamy. I can’t wait to start loading up on fun apps, I really think people are right when they say they change your life. Let’s hope that I can be cured of my recent butter-finger problem and not drop it as much as I have been dropping my old phone. And let’s hope that Christian’s rubber case does it’s job to protect his against, well, Christian.
