Unboxing Malifaux - Tarot Fate Deck

There are now quite a wide variety of Fate Decks available for the game of Malifaux and though I don't have them all I like to do overviews of the ones that I do. As with anything opinion on styles of art is somewhat subject so I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions about whether you like that aspect of them or not...

Tarot Fate Deck
This particular Fate Deck comes in a standard cardboard box of the kind you'd find surrounding most standard card decks though as this is a 'Tarot' deck it's somewhat larger than a standard sized Fate Deck. Here's a picture of the slip case/box art front and back as well as a picture of the card rear which I'm obviously only going to need to show once...

Like many of the newer Fate Decks produced by Wyrd these cards are quite slippery but not to the point of being unusable of course.

The Suits
The cards of each suit all have different pictures on them with each 'suit' consisting of characters from a single faction.
Crows
Masks
Rams
Tomes
The Red and Black Jokers

Weak, Moderate, Severe
The different damage levels are indicated by differing numbers of diamonds beneath the cards number to the left of the picture.

 Comparison Picture
As mentioned earlier the Tarot Deck is somewhat larger than a standard sized deck.

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.
Should you ever choose to purchase something based on one of my features or reviews then it would be nice if you could let the company know where the inspiration came from...who knows...they might be grateful to the poor unappreciated blogger who sent you their way...if however I've put you off a product...well...you can keep that info to yourself...

Unboxing Malifaux - Seriously Twisted Fate Deck

There are now quite a wide variety of Fate Decks available for the game of Malifaux and though I don't have them all I like to do overviews of the ones that I do. As with anything opinion on styles of art is somewhat subject so I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions about whether you like them or not...

This particular Fate Deck comes in a nice presentation box with a magnetic clip on one side of the internal container once the decorative sleeve is slid off. Here's a picture of the slip case art and the opened box before we look at the cards themselves...

...as well as a picture of the card rear which I'm obviously only going to need to show once...

The Red and Black Jokers

The Suits
The cards of each suit all have identical pictures on them rather than usual format whereby the eleven, twelve and thirteen are different. They also have an indicator for weak, moderate or severe damage on the corner for your convenience.
Crows
Masks
Rams
Tomes

Weak, Moderate, Severe
The different damage levels are indicated by the number of coloured gems in the cards border.

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.

Unboxing Malifaux - Classic Fate Deck

There are now quite a wide variety of Fate Decks available for the game of Malifaux and though I don't have them all I like to do overviews of the ones that I do. As with anything opinion on styles of art is somewhat subject so I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions about whether you like them or not...

This particular Fate Deck comes in a fairly standard card container. Here's a picture of the case art before we look at the cards themselves...

...as well as a picture of the card rear which I'm obviously only going to need to show once...

The cards themselves are an actual card material rather than the somewhat slippery plastic that some of the other recent decks have been made of.

The Red and Black Jokers

The Suits
The one to ten cards are fairly standard with the card symbol simply being repeated the appropriate number of times and the eleven, twelve and thirteen numbered cards rather cleverly have the number also appear as a J, Q or K for the Jack, Queen and King. Each suits eleven, twelve and thirteen cards are different but are in a classic card deck style rather than being a Malifaux related picture of some kind.

Here's a picture of each suit in turn with a close up of the picture cards below each.

Though it's easy to miss there are also markings for Weak, Moderate and Severe in the card borders on the bottom and top edges. You can see the tiny dashes in the close-up pictures below.

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.
