It's been a hard days night

So last weekend was father and son's campout. N8 looks forward to this annual outing for yet another reason to go camping. I think he also looks forward to Ricky's great dutch oven cooking!! Well this year was a little tough. Our little Emma LOVES to go camping and couldn't quite understand why only the boys got to go. So, what's a mom and dad to do?? send her!! Yes, my daughter tagged along on the all male, all father's and son's campout. A few people asked N8 about it and he told them she would quit coming before she turned 12! So, we have a few years.

On Saturday morning she wanted to take a hike, but wasn't satisfied with the one N8 took her on!




N8 doesn't know what kind of hike she was expecting, but oh well!

Bud enjoyed playing in the fire and building dams in the stream.
Oh and picking his nose!!


In other news, Matthew started "solids" this past week. Solids really means pretty soupy rice cereal. He seems to be ok with it!
On Thursday Bud's school did a Language Arts Festival. It was very cute. His class did the alphabet in sign language. My pictures didn't turn out so great of the class doing their thing, but here's a fun one of Bud and his best bud waiting for it to start.

So at my house if the TV isn't on the I'm listening to music. I have issues with silence for some reason. I don't like lulls in conversation and although I might say I want some peace and quiet from my children, what I really want is to watch a good show without being interrupted, or to listen to some music while I read or cook.

I have to say I am a product of the 80's. Being the youngest of 6, I listened to what my older siblings were listening to. So in addition to what is listed you can add pretty much any typical 80's stuff to the list! So, here's some of my favorite tunes (songs, groups, bands, etc):

So, we've made it back home and I am slowly trying to get into the swing of things. I'm still on Hawaiian time I think. We have a great time, but already want to go back. Nate really didn't get to do as much as we would have liked since he worked during the day the entire time we were there. Still it was beautiful!
