What's in a name?

My friend Kathryn tagged me to find out more about my name. So...
The late 70's and early 80's was a really popular time for the name Rachel. The story that i hear is that my dad was not particularly fond of the name. But my mom went into labor and had me while he was out of town for work, so she got to pick my name. I still remember in 2nd grade there being 4 Rachel's in my class. Growing up I had a myriad of nickname, all given to my by my older sister. None of these name actually had anything to do with my own name, they were only given to me to annoy and drive my crazy!!

Here's some info about my name:

The meaning of the name Rachel is Ewe
The origin of the name Rachel is Hebrew
Info on this name: Rachel Bilson, actress. Rachel Ward, actress. Character played by Jennifer Aniston on the TV show "Friends"
Favorites Count Rachel is on 2141 favorite name lists

A few people have asked me about N8 and what that's all about. My sweet hubbie's given name is Nathaniel, but he grew up going by Nathan. Then in college he ended up having a roommate also named Nathan. So, he started going by Nate. In college apartments you end up having to label alot of your stuff (any food that you don't want your roommates to eat!) so instead of writing Nate, he started writing N8. I think it's fun and was something different for a username!

Here's some name info for the rest of my family:
Nathaniel: Gift from God
Benjamin: Son of my right hand
Emma: Universal
Matthew: Gift of God

"A promise of secrecy was if course very dutifully given, but it could not be kept without difficulty; for the curiosity excited by his long absence burst forth in such very direct questions on his return, as required some ingenuity to evade, and he was at the same rime exercising great self-denial, for he was longing to publish his prosperous love."

Let's talk about $$, plants and a party!!

So a quick update during a hectic week!! I hate yet thrive on weeks like this. It started out with a bang. Emma got a stomach bug over the weekend. This included barfing in the Walmart shopping cart all over all the stuff I was buying. You should have seen me checking out. I would use a baby wipe to wipe down an item and hold the bar code up for the lady to scan. No bagging for me, she just politely let me put everything back into my barf covered cart! She also barfed again in the middle of the night Saturday, so no church for her. N8 and I did the switch-a-roo and I went to sacrament meeting, came home during Sunday school and he went to teach deacons quorum.

Monday was spent getting things ready for today. We had Emma's playgroup birthday party! It went well except Emma can't seem to share anything lately. I did a spring/easter theme and they seemed to enjoy it.

On Thursday is our first quarterly enrichment activity of the year. It's the RS birthday party. We're having each sister bring a bag with 3 items to help us get to know them better and also a picture of themself as a child. We're having a taco bar for dinner. I hope we have a great turn out and everyone had a great time.

Last week for FHE we talked about $$. Benjamin has been into asking for everything he sees, so we thought it was time for him to start earning his own money. So we have a few small jobs that he or Emma can do and when they do them they earn a quarter. We made fun little jars and they've been doing pretty well with it.

Here's a updated picture if some of our plants we planted last week. Some are doing really well and some aren't. So we'll keep watching and waiting.

There's been an infiltration!!

So, on Saturday night N8 and I came home from going to dinner and I checked my email. I saw that Andrea had left a comment on my blog. I opened the email and started reading, and then began to FREAK OUT!! As I read I saw the title for the post "Did I really write this" and realized, No!! I hadn't written this, what was it that she was commenting one! So I quickly opened another window so I could look at my blog. Terrible thoughts started running through my mind. Is there someone out there trying to take over my identity? In this world of identity theft you never know what's going to happen.

But, I look over to the couch only to see my sweet love husband laughing at me!! So, Did I really write this- NO! He did!! While I had run some errands earlier in the day, he thought it would be funny to write a post on my blog.

I think he was secretly jealous that I had a blog that I kept up on, Incidentally he had an old blog and he started a new on
-old blog http://sweetbert.blogspot.com
-new blog http://sweetcoder.blogspot.com
He loved seeing the comments he received on the post he wrote!

I do have to say he felt really guilty for causing me to freak-out! Especially since I had spent the previous two days stressing about a ridiculous RS problem, only to then be followed on Sunday by my teaching a RS lesson that turned terribly stressful.

Let me pose this question? Why do we as women always seem to find way to create tension? Whether it be unintentional or intentional, I think this is an unfortunate aspect of womanhood.

I'll end with a quote that I wish I could follow!
“If you have a lot of tension and you get a headache, do what it says on the aspirin bottle: "Take two aspirin" and "Keep away from children".”

Did I really write this?

Once in a while I write a blog entry and ask "did I really write that?" This is one of those times, where I proclaim all sorts of strange things in my sub-conscience that my normal self usually does not acknowledge. Here is a list of things that you probably didn't know about me (in fact, neither did I):
1. I love the snow
2. New York Yankees are better than the Phoenix Diamondbacks
3. Creamy peanut butter is way better than crunchy
4. I love lasagna! I will make it at least once a week for dinner from now on for no particular reason.
5. I hate shopping
6. My kids are perfect angels; and no they are not wiggly
7. Snow is awesome!
8. I am stubborn (just like my father)
9. I love that my husband is so handy around the house
10. Did I mention that I love the snow?
11. I love mangos, avocados, & papayas
12. Fruity ice cream flavors are way better than chocolate
13. I love it when my husband goes on campouts with the scouts and leaves me with my quite, calm, well-behaved children all weekend.
14. My husband is hot

I would mention more, but I might come to my senses... and... uhhh...realize what is happening here...
