Hi, i have a working MSYS/MinGW setup on my PC, all is fine with it. I now want to configure and compile binutils and gcc from source for an embedded target. binutils went fine, but gcc fails in gcc/collect2.c with undefined references to fork() and signal(). I'm not sure if i described it clearly enough, i want to configure and compile gcc for an embedded target, not for MSYS. I also don't wan't to build MinGW from source. I want to build a compiler for a microcontroller and use that compiler under MSYS. Can anybody give me a hint on how to configure and compile gcc from source under MinGW/MSYS ? Are there more prerequisites needed to compile gcc? Best regards, Torsten. |

This new-msys-1.0.dll contains a change in reporting the windows error for this issue so that the windows error causing problems is reported. You need to copy new-msys-1.0.dll to the <msys install>/bin/msys-1.0.dll directory. If you can't extract the file from the tarball let me know and I forward it to you by some other method. On the download page http://www.mingw.org/download.shtml there is a MinGW-3.0.0-1.exe in the Previous section. I can not find any counterpart in the Current section. Is this a mistake? Should I look for something else in the Current section? |

Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=3681473 By: infidel I think it is unlikely. Did you try redirecting the output using the command prompt? If that works then the problem must be in your C# program. Have you tested your C# code by redirecting one of the standard Windows commands, e.g. ipconfig.exe? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=3679054 By: dhamson I need to redirect the output (& error output) of a mingw program .exe (source is not accessible). I've launched it from a C# program using System.Diagnostics.Process - it launches fine and runs fine; however when I attempt to redirect the mingw output, it is silent. When I run the mingw program as a DOS cmd, there are a few lines of output that I can see. I debugged the wrapper C# program by building a C# .exe that outputs to both standard out and error out - works normally. Is there anything done to the processing of standard output channels of 1 & 2 that might disable redirecting the output? TIA, DonH ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. CVS code is a mess at the moment and I need to find some spare cycles to backout some changes. The error message is coming from winsup/cygwin/cygheap.cc line 63. I also think the Win32 error reported isn't the real error but a result of a subsequent API call. For some reason cygheap = (init_cygheap *) VirtualAlloc ((void *) &_cygheap_start, CYGHEAPSIZE, MEM_RESERVE, PAGE_NOACCESS); returns a null pointer. CYGHEAPSIZE is defined to be #define CYGHEAPSIZE (sizeof (init_cygheap) + (4000 * sizeof (fhandler_union)) + (2 * 65536)) at least the source on my local disk; I don't remember changing it though. While tidying up my mailbox over the weekend, I noticed a thread about making MSYS run on such platforms; if it isn't set up right, you see a very similar message to this, IIRC. You need CVS msys.bat, to work around it: http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/mingw/msys/dvlpr/bin/msys.bat HTH, Keith. |
