Leviticus 16:4 He shall put on the holy linen coat and shall have the linen undergarment on his body, and he shall tie the linen sash around his waist, and wear the linen turban; these are the holy garments. He shall bathe his body in water and then put them on.
Yom Kippur or the Day of Atonement is the busiest day of the year for the high priest.
These are the instructions for the high priest before enters the Holy Place in the Temple.
Exodus 28 gives instructions for the priestly garments. The clothing for the priest is to be made of linen.
Exodus 28:5 They shall take the gold and the blue and the purple and the scarlet material and the fine linen.
The concept is stated seven more times in Exodus 28. Priestly garments are of linen (Exodus 28:6, 8, 15, 39, 39, 42).

Currently, there is a high priest in the Heavenly Tabernacle. He is of the order of Melchizedek.

The body referenced is Jesus after His death.

John 20:17 Jesus says to her, “Do not touch Me, for not yet have I ascended to the Father. Now go to My brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’”
After His death but before His ascension, Christ was clean and free of sin. He had become a sin offering at the cross. Jesus had overcome death or sin with His resurrection.
Christ is talking to Mary Magdalene. Because of her history, we know she was a sinful woman. Not to pick on Mary, as humans, we are all sinful. Jesus would have said the same thing to any of us if we were in Mary’s place.
Jesus’ resurrected body could not come in contact with sin before going to the Heavenly Tabernacle. Jesus entered Heaven free of sin in His glorified body. Christ presented Himself clean and pure before God the Father in the Heavenly Holy Place.

The Hebrew month of Elul initiates a 40 day period called Teshuvah. The point of the season is to prepare for the civil Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah. This God appointed feast day is also referred to as Yom Teruah by Jews. Christians may refer to the day as the Feast of Trumpets. The season of Teshuvah concludes on Yom Kippur or the Day of Atonement.
Teshuvah is a time to turn toward God. People are called to turn away from their sin, repent, and change course. Let go of the ways of the world. It is a time of inward reflection and sincere self-assessment. The goal is a change in lifestyle away from sin to obedience in God’s word. Return to God and His ways. This is not a warm and fuzzy spiritual word that causes your stomach to flutter or hair to stand on your neck. There should be some conviction. Be honest. Right is right and wrong is wrong. We can all do better. Prepare and turn to God with a joyful heart. The 40 day period starts on Elul 1 and ends on Tishri 10, Yom Kippur.
“Repent” is not a mystical, spiritual word that has some deep and hidden theological meaning. The Greek word for “repent” in the New Testament is μετανοεο/metanoeo. It means: to change one’s mind for better, heartily to amend with abhorrence of one’s past sins.
The ultimate expression of the Teshuvah likely results in Revelation 22 when believers in Christ meet God the Father Himself. Will that event occur on Yom Kippur or the Day of Atonement?

Elul is the last month of the civic calendar in Judaism. Elul is the sixth month of God’s calendar.
Jewish tradition points to the name of the month to be an acronym of “Ani l’dodi v’dodi li” a quote from Song of Songs 6:3 I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine…
In Aramaic, the vernacular of the Jewish people at the time that the month names were adopted, the word Elul means “search”. Per Strong’s Concordance, Elul means “nothingness” in the Hebrew.
The month is directly mentioned one time in the Bible.
Nehemiah 6:15 So the wall was completed on the twenty-fifth of the month Elul, in fifty-two days.

Of course there is disagreement on when the month of Elul actually begins. On our western Gregorian calendar in the year 2025, this would be at sunset Saturday, August 23rd or Monday, August 25th, as calculated by 21st century time keeping. And then there are those who are waiting on the sighting of the new moon to determine the start of the month. Jewish time keepers cannot agree.
The Essenes followed a solar calendar. A solar calendar has a leap week as compared to a leap month with a lunar calendar. On the Essene calendar, Elul 1st took place on what was Sunday, August 17th, 2025. It is the year 5950 AM. In other words, 5,950 years since creation.
The Essenes also marked the beginning of the year in the spring with the month of Nisan or Abib as described in Exodus.
Exodus 12:1-2 Now the Lord said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, “This month shall be the beginning of months for you; it is to be the first month of the year to you…”
Incidentally, this is a jubilee year on the Essene calendar. There are some who think the resurrection of believers and the rapture will occur during a jubilee year.
One Jewish custom of Elul is to visit a cemetery. This is quite interesting in light of the Jewish belief that the resurrection of the dead will occur during the period of Teshuvah. Specifically, the resurrection is to occur on the new moon holiday of the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah. Christians refer to this as the Feast of Trumpets. Orthodox Jews do not believe in Christ let alone the New Testament. Apostle Paul’s letters to the Corinthians and Colossians would confirm their tradition.
1 Corinthians 15:52b at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
Resurrection first, then the rapture occurs. The question is the amount of time between the two events.
Am I saying the resurrection of the dead and the rapture is in approximately one month from Elul 1st per identification of the new moon of Tishri? No, but it is possible.
As believers, should we be ready for Christ to gather us into the clouds? Yes, just like any other day.
There is only one New Moon festival, Yom Teruah or the Feast of Trumpets. The Apostle Paul tells us Jesus has big plans for the Feast of Trumpets at some point in the future.
Colossians 2:16-17 Therefore let no one judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a feast, a New Moon, or a Sabbath. These are a shadow of the things to come, but the body that casts it belongs to Christ.
Leviticus 23:15-16 ‘You shall also count for yourselves from the day after the Sabbath, from the day when you brought in the sheaf of the wave offering; there shall be seven complete Sabbaths. You shall count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath; then you shall present a new grain offering to the Lord.
On a Gregorian calendar, we are in the year of 2025, the holiday of Shavuot/Feast of Weeks/Pentecost begins at sunset on Sunday, June 1st. The God Appointed holiday ends at sunset Monday, June 2nd.
The Feast takes place in the month of Sivan on the 6th and 7th of a Hebrew calendar. This is the Hebrew year 5785 on the traditional lunar calendar.
On the solar Essene calendar, Shavuot/Feast of Weeks/Pentecost began on what was Sunday, Sivan 15th, 5950 or June 1st, 2025. Yes, the Counting of the Omer is calculated differently by the Essenes as compared to how the Pharisees marked time. However this year, the holiday is observed on the same day by all calendars.
As the Essenes mark time, this Biblical year which began in the Spring of 2025 is a Jubilee year. Arguably a year the Lord Jesus could return for his bride, the church.

Shavuot is one of the three holidays where Jewish men are required to come to Jerusalem. The men were to make their presentation and sacrifice before God at the Temple. This holiday is one of seven holidays appointed by God.

Note the three dates above. The first is 5785, which is a modern day secular, Hebrew, lunar calendar.
Purim will begin on Thursday evening at sunset, March 13, and last until Friday evening at sunset evening of March 14. This would be Adar 14 on the secular Hebrew calendar.
The verses below will serve as a framework for both Hebrew calendars discussed.
Genesis 1:14-19 And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to distinguish between the day and the night, and let them be signs to mark the seasons and days and years. And let them serve as lights in the expanse of the sky to shine upon the earth.” And it was so. God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night. And He made the stars as well. God set these lights in the expanse of the sky to shine upon the earth, to preside over the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening, and there was morning, the fourth day.
Of note, there will be a lunar eclipse during Purim on the modern day secular Hebrew calendar.
Astronomers predict that a total lunar eclipse will coincide with the first day of Purim, lasting for 65 minutes. The eclipse will be visible over North and South America, rising over Australia and northeast Asia and setting over Africa and Europe.
The following interpretations are not Biblical. They are from a rabbi’s understanding of the Talmud, writings of oral traditions.
…lunar eclipses are considered a bad omen for Israel under normal circumstances. This is based on a section in the Talmud (Sukkot 29a) that specifies that lunar eclipses are a bad omen for Israel since the moon spiritually represents Israel. If the lunar eclipse takes place in the eastern side of the heavens, then it is a bad omen for all the nations in the east, and similarly, if it occurs in the western hemisphere of the sky, it is a bad sign for all the nations in the west. -Rabbi Mordechai Genuth

By the way, there will be a solar eclipse on March 29, the first day of Nisan.
The second is 5949, which is a solar calendar from the ancient Essenes discovered from the caves of Qumran and the Dead Sea Scrolls. The belief is the earth is 5949 years old from day four of creation. The first day to accurately mark time with this method was a Wednesday, the day the sun, moon, and stars were created. See verses above from Genesis 1.
According to the Dead Sea Scroll calendar, Purim occurred on occurred on Saturday, Adar 14, 5949 or March 1, 2025 on our western Gregorian calendar.
The Dead Sea Scroll solar calendar is more specific and consistent than the secular lunar calendar. According to the Dead Sea Scroll calendar, we are approaching a jubilee year starting in about two weeks. After this upcoming jubilee year, the calendar enters the last 50 years of the age of grace. This is prophetically significant because the 1,000 year Messianic Kingdom follows.

The last date is the Gregorian calendar year 2025. This is our modern day western solar calendar. It is primarily a math calculation. This is essentially the world’s business calendar.

The First Commandment and the Seven Laws of Noah
The first time the word “commandment” appears in the Bible is when Hashem commanded Adam: “And the Lord God commanded the man, saying: Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat.” (Genesis 2:16) This verse alludes to the seven universal laws that form the foundation of ethical behavior for all humanity. These laws reflect seven of the Ten Commandments.
These ethical principles were reaffirmed at Mount Sinai when Hashem revealed Himself to the world, and our ancestors witnessed this divine event.
The Jewish, Christian, Muslim and all monotheistic traditions recognize the divine revelation at Mount Sinai as a foundational moment in history.
When Hashem gave the Children of Israel the Torah, He provided an ethical standard for the entire world. This standard is known as the Seven Commandments of Noah, which form the basis of universal morality.
When a person accepts the Seven Noahide Laws, they receive divine blessings:
A Neshama (Soul) – The soul that animates the body and connects a person to Hashem.
Righteous Among the Nations – A person who upholds these laws is considered righteous and honored before Hashem.
A Share in the World to Come – Those who follow these principles merit a place in the hereafter.

As of February 2025, we are not in the tribulation. There is no Temple. There is no antichrist. We don’t know the twists and turns to the inevitability of these events. But, it’s coming.
There are 4 proofs that support God rejecting Israel’s Yom Kippur or Day of Atonement sacrifice. Humanity’s sacrifice was rejected by God because the ultimate sacrifice had been made by Jesus Christ.
The lot of the Lord was in the left hand.
The crimson strap remained crimson.
The western light was not lit.
The doors of the Temple were open in the morning.
Today’s focus is the opened doors of the Temple.
Babylonian Talmud: “Our Rabbis taught: During the last forty years before the destruction of the Temple,…and the doors of the Hekal (Temple) would open by themselves.”
Jerusalem Talmud: “Forty years before the destruction of the Temple,… They would close the gates of the Temple by night and get up in the morning and find them wide open.”
Specific sizes of the Temple gates are unknown. But we do have some scope and scale with the Temple veil as a guide.
Matthew 27:51 And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split.
Luke 23:45 The sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn down the middle.
The inner veil hung between the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies. The veil was hung on a crossbeam stone over 30 feet long and weighed more than 30 tons. Estimates have the veil weighing at least 18,000 pounds.
The Veils before the Most Holy Place were 40 cubits (60 feet) long, and 20 (30 feet) wide, of the thickness of the palm of the hand, and wrought in 72 squares, which were joined together. The Life and Times of Jesus the Messiah, Alfred Edersheim
The Temple had…golden doors of fifty-five cubits (82.5 feet) altitude and sixteen (24 feet) in breadth; but before these doors there was a veil of equal largeness with the doors. -Josephus, 1st Century Jewish Historian
Keep in mind, Herod’s Temple had larger dimensions than Solomon’s. So the veil in Herod’s Temple was bigger.

With the work of Christ on the cross, the cost of sin was paid. Because of His action, there is now access to God the Father. The barrier has been taken down and humanity who believes in Christ can be in the presence of God.
The door to the Temple is open. The veil has been torn down. Barriers to God have been removed in Jesus Christ. God has made way for sinful humanity.
Hebrews 10:19-22 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
Daniel 10:13-14 The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days, but Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I was left there with the kings of Persia, and came to make you understand what is to happen to your people in the latter days. For the vision is for days yet to come.”
The context of the verses from Daniel is the “latter days”. We know the angel Michael will come to defend Israel against the dragon or Satan in the latter days from Revelation 12. It is reasonable to think the Prince of Persia is still around as well.
This information communicated to Daniel is clearly worth fighting over. The Persian prince or angel is committed to the death and destruction of Israel. The happenings on earth are the result of Heavenly warfare. Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven…

Liberty…Leviticus 25:10a And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants.
Pursuit of Happiness…Galatians 5:13 For you were called to freedom/liberty, brothers. Only do not use your freedom/liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

I think it is time we get back to the basics of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. I think it would be even better if we get back to the basics of the Bible.
We can start with…
John 1:1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made, and without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
That “Word” is Jesus Christ.
Genesis 1:27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
