Abstract

 リチウムイオン二次電池において、正極に含まれる正極活物質としてリチウムおよびニッケルを含有するリチウムニッケル含有複合酸化物を用いるとともに、負極に含まれる負極活物質層が、リチウムを吸蔵した状態の溶融温度が1200°C以下の負極活物質を含有するように構成する。これにより、リチウムイオン二次電池の高容量化、高出力化および長寿命化を図るとともに、安全性を一層向上させ、特に釘刺し試験において、内部短絡による発熱を抑制し、熱暴走の発生を確実に防止する。
