- 제 2항에 있어서, 서열번호:5의 뉴클레오티드 서열을 포함하는, 옥수수 식물.

(a) 제 1항 내지 제 6항 중 어느 한 항의 옥수수 식물을 이와 다른 옥수수 식물과 교배시키는 단계;
(b) 상기 (a)의 교배로부터 유래된 적어도 하나의 자손 식물을 얻는 단계; 및
(c) 서열번호:1 및 서열번호:2의 뉴클레오티드 서열을 포함하는 자손을 선별하는 단계,

- 제 27항에 있어서, 상기 제1의 DNA 분자는 서열번호:4 또는 서열번호:5의 형질전환유전자 지역의 적어도 20개의 연속적인 뉴클레오티드 또는 그의 상보체를 포함하고, 상기 제2의 DNA 분자는 서열번호:4의 3' 인접 옥수수 게놈 DNA 지역의 적어도 20개의 연속적인 뉴클레오티드 또는 그의 상보체를 포함하며, 여기에서 (i) 상기 제1의 DNA 분자는 서열번호:5의 이종 삽입 DNA 부분의 적어도 20개의 연속적인 뉴클레오티드를 포함하고, 상기 제2의 DNA 분자는 서열번호:4의 옥수수 게놈 부분에 상보적인 적어도 20개의 연속적인 뉴클레오티드를 포함하거나; 또는 (ii) 상기 제1의 DNA 분자는 서열번호:5의 뉴클레오티드 위치 1 내지 11305에 상응하는 역상보체 서열과 특이적으로 혼성화하고, 상기 제2의 DNA 분자는 서열번호:4의 뉴클레오티드 위치 21 내지 914와 특이적으로 혼성화하는 것을 특징으로 하는 한 쌍의 DNA 분자들.
- 제 27항 내지 제 29항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
(i) 상기 제1의 DNA 분자는 서열번호:6을 포함하고, 상기 제2의 DNA 분자는 서열번호:7을 포함하거나; 또는
(ii) 상기 제1의 DNA 분자 및 상기 제2의 DNA 분자는 서열번호:3, 서열번호:4 또는 서열번호:5의 적어도 30개의 연속적인 뉴클레오티드를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 한 쌍의 DNA 분자들. - 다음을 포함하는, 옥수수 DNA를 포함하는 생물학적 샘플에서 옥수수 계통 MON89034 DNA의 존재의 검출 방법:
(a) 상기 생물학적 샘플을, 제 27항 내지 제 29항 중 어느 한 항에 따른 한쌍의 DNA 분자들을 포함하는 DNA 프라이머 쌍과 접촉시키는 단계;
(b) 핵산 증폭 반응 조건을 제공하는 단계;
(c) 상기 핵산 증폭 반응을 수행하여, DNA 증폭산물 분자를 생산하는 단계; 및
(d) 상기 DNA 증폭산물 분자를 검출하는 단계,
여기에서, 서열번호:1, 서열번호:2 및 이들의 상보체의 적어도 하나를 포함하는 증폭산물의 검출은 상기 생물학적 샘플에서 옥수수 계통 MON89034 DNA의 존재를 나타낸다. - 제 31항에 있어서, 상기 생물학적 샘플은 옥수수 식물로부터 추출된 DNA 샘플인 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 다음을 포함하는, 옥수수 DNA를 포함하는 생물학적 샘플에서 옥수수 계통 MON89034 DNA의 존재의 검출 방법:
(a) 생물학적 샘플을, 45℃에서 6.0 x 소듐 클로라이드/소듐 시트레이트(SSC)로 처리 후, 50℃에서 2.0 x SSC로 세척하는 것을 포함하는 엄격한 조건하에서 서열번호:1 또는 서열번호:2 또는 그의 상보체로 나타낸 하나 이상의 뉴클레오티드 서열들과 혼성화하는 DNA 프로브와 접촉시키는 단계;
(b) 45℃에서 6.0 x 소듐 클로라이드/소듐 시트레이트(SSC)로 처리 후, 50℃에서 2.0 x SSC로 세척하는 것을 포함하는 엄격한 혼성화 조건에 상기 생물학적 샘플 및 DNA 프로브를 적용시키는 단계; 및

(i) 상기 생물학적 샘플은 옥수수 식물로부터 추출된 DNA 샘플이거나; 또는
(ii) 상기 DNA 프로브는 서열번호:1, 서열번호:2 또는 그의 상보체를 포함하거나; 또는
(iii) 상기 DNA 프로브는 적어도 하나의 형광단으로 표지된 것을 특징으로 하는 방법. - 제 31항에 있어서, 상기 생물학적 샘플은 옥수수 가루, 옥수수 오일, 옥수수 케이크, 옥수수 종자, 옥수수 배아, 옥수수 전분, 옥수수 분말, 옥수수 화분, 옥수수 실크, 옥수수 담금 액, 옥수수 맥아, 옥수수 당, 옥수수 시럽, 옥수수 오일로부터 생산된 마아가린, 주정박(DDGS), 화장품 및 증량제로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 옥수수 계통 MON89034 또는 그것의 자손에 대하여 특이적인 DNA 프라이머 또는 프로브로 작용하는, 서열번호:3, 서열번호:4 또는 서열번호:5와 상동성 또는 상보성인 적어도 20개의 연속적인 뉴클레오티드를 포함하는 적어도 하나의 DNA 분자를 포함하는 DNA 검출 키트.
- 제 36항에 있어서,
(i) 상기 적어도 하나의 DNA 분자는 서열번호:1, 서열번호:2 또는 그의 상보체를 포함하거나, 또는 서열번호:1, 서열번호:2 또는 그의 상보체이거나; 또는
(ii) 제 27항 내지 제 29항 중 어느 한 항에 따른 한 쌍의 DNA 분자들을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 DNA 검출 키트. - 다음을 포함하는, 생물학적 샘플에서 옥수수 계통 MON89034를 포함하는 옥수수 식물의 DNA의 접합성의 결정 방법:
(a) 상기 샘플을, (1) 옥수수 계통 MON89034 DNA를 포함하는 핵산 증폭 반응에서 사용될 때, 옥수수 계통 MON89034에 대하여 진단성인 제1의 증폭산물을 생산하고, (2) MON89034 DNA 이외의 옥수수 게놈 DNA를 포함하는 핵산 증폭 반응에서 사용될 때, MON89034 DNA 이외의 옥수수 게놈 DNA에 대하여 진단성인 제2의 증폭산물을 생산하는, 서열번호:6, 서열번호:7 및 서열번호:10을 포함하는 프라이머 세트와 접촉시키는 단계;
(b) 핵산 증폭 반응을 수행하는 단계; 및
(c) 생산된 증폭산물을 검출하는 단계,
여기에서, 양 증폭산물의 존재의 검출은 상기 샘플이 옥수수 계통 MON89034 DNA에 대하여 이형접합성임을 나타내고, 제1의 증폭산물만의 검출은 상기 샘플이 옥수수 계통 MON89034 DNA에 대하여 동형접합성임을 나타낸다. - 제 38항에 있어서, 상기 프라이머 세트는 추가적으로 서열번호:14 및 서열번호:15와 함께 사용되는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 다음 단계들을 포함하는, 샘플에서 옥수수 식물 MON89034에 상응하는 DNA의 존재를 검출하는 방법:
(a) DNA를 포함하는 샘플을, 핵산 증폭 반응에서 옥수수 계통 MON89034로부터의 게놈 DNA와 함께 사용될 때, 서열번호:1 또는 서열번호:2를 포함하는 증폭산물을 생산하는, 프라이머 쌍과 접촉시키는 단계;
(b) 핵산 증폭 반응을 수행하여, 상기 증폭산물을 생산하는 단계; 및
(c) 상기 증폭산물을 검출하는 단계. - 다음 단계들을 포함하는, 샘플에서 옥수수 식물 MON89034에 상응하는 DNA의 존재를 검출하는 방법:
(a) DNA를 포함하는 샘플을, 엄격한 혼성화 조건하에서 옥수수 계통 MON89034로부터의 게놈 DNA와는 혼성화되지만, 엄격한 혼성화 조건하에서 상기 옥수수 계통 MON89034가 아닌 옥수수 식물과는 혼성화되지 않는 프로브와 접촉시키는 단계, 여기에서 상기 프로브는 서열번호:1 또는 서열번호:2에 대해 상동성 또는 상보적이고;
(b) 상기 샘플과 상기 프로브를 엄격한 혼성화 조건에 적용시키는 단계; 및
(c) 상기 프로브의 상기 옥수수 계통 MON89034 DNA에의 혼성화를 검출하는 단계,
여기에서 상기 엄격한 혼성화 조건은 45℃에서 6.0 x 소듐 클로라이드/소듐 시트레이트(SSC)로 처리 후, 50℃에서 2.0 x SSC로 세척하는 것을 포함한다. - 제1의 DNA 분자와 제2의 DNA 분자를 포함하고, (i) 상기 제1의 DNA 분자는 서열번호:6을 포함하고, 상기 제2의 DNA 분자는 서열번호:7을 포함하거나; 또는 (ii) 상기 제1 및 제2의 DNA 분자는 서열번호:3, 서열번호:4 또는 서열번호:5의 적어도 30개의 연속적인 뉴클레오티드들을 포함하는 DNA 검출 키트.
- 서열번호:1, 서열번호:2, 서열번호:3 또는 서열번호:4 중의 어느 하나와 Cry2Ab 및 Cry1A.105를 코딩하는 DNA 서열을 포함하고, PS149B1, Cry3Bb, VIP3A, Cry1Ab 및 Cry1Fa로 구성되는 군으로부터 선택되는 적어도 하나의 단백질을 코딩하는 핵산 서열을 더 포함하는 형질전환 곤충저항성 옥수수 식물.
- 제 43항에 있어서, 서열번호:1, 서열번호:2, 서열번호:3 또는 서열번호:4 중의 어느 하나는 상기 형질전환 곤충저항성 옥수수 식물의 게놈 내에 포함되는 것을 특징으로 하는 형질전환 곤충저항성 옥수수 식물.
- 제 43항에 있어서, 상기 옥수수 식물은 자손(progeny) 옥수수 식물인 것을 특징으로 하는, 옥수수 식물.
- 제 43항에 있어서, 상기 옥수수 식물은 화분(pollen), 밑씨(onule), 꽃(flowers), 싹(shoots), 뿌리(roots), 줄기(stalks), 실크(silks), 수염(tassels), 이삭(ears) 및 잎(leaves)으로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 옥수수 식물의 부분인 것을 특징으로 하는, 옥수수 식물.
