Abstract
818,895. Forcing liquids by gaseous pressure. JAYBEE GROUP INVESTMENTS (PROPRIETARY) Ltd. March 27, 1956, No. 9516/56. Class 102(2). [Also in Group XI] Air pressure for raising liquid fuel through a pipe 15 to a vapour burner (see Group XI) is provided by an annular air-filled pressurising chamber 20 having an inner wall 20a which is concavely curved in axial section, the chamber being arranged coaxial with and spaced from the burner head 12 so as to be heated by the burner and by the priming flame, and being in communication with the fuel reservoir 10 through a pipe 22 and an annular space 23. Deflectors 25 on the burner vaporizing chamber 16 deflect flames towards the pressurizing chamber 20. In a modification the burner head with the chamber 20 is mounted on a frame beside the fuel reservoir, through the bottom of which pipes corresponding to 15, 24 pass, the latter continuing to the upper part of the reservoir.
