Abstract

975,427. Wick burners. NICKELFABRIKSAKTIEBOLAGET GOTTFRID CARLSSON. July 19, 1961 [Sept. 8, 1960], No. 26121/61. Heading F4T. A wick burner comprises an air tube 2 extending through a fuel tank 1 and supporting a displaceable cylindrical wick 3, an air deflector 7 at the top of the air tube, a central open-ended tube 8 extending downwardly from the air deflector into the air tube 2, a perforated diffuser 9 surrounding the air deflector and a perforated jacket 11 surrounding the diffuser. An outer wick tube 4 extends from the top of the tank 1 and is surrounded by a perforated gallery 5 to which a shield 6 is fastened. An air-deflecting ring 12 is provided on the inside of the perforated jacket 11. Combustion takes place at the top of the wick and also in the chamber formed between the diffuser 9 and the outer jacket 11.
