Abstract

1379371 Cups HELLBERG & OLSSON AB 1 Jan 1973 80/73 Heading A4A [Also in Division B8] A cup includes a wall comprising a cylindrical upper portion 11 forming the opening of the cup and a lower portion 10 tapering towards the bottom of the cup, there being a peripheral web 14 connected with the wall of the cup in the transition between the upper and lower portions and a cylindrical collar 13 extending downwardly from the web to provide for gripping the cup. As shown, the lower portion 10 is provided with strengthening ribs 12 and the web 14 has apertures 15. For convenience in manufacture the portion 11 and the collar 13 may have a slight taper and it is stated that the cup may be produced in a two part mould with a parting line in the region (at lines 16 or 17), Fig. 3, (not shown), of the collar 13. The upper portion 11 is preferably slightly thicker than the lower portion 10 and the cup is of polystyrene or polypropylene material. The cup may be stacked Fig. 2 (not shown), in which case the height of the portion 11 may be less than that of the collar 13 so that in a stack the portion 11 is enclosed. The ribs 12 may be replaced by decoration.
