Abstract

1373370 Automatic circuit-breakers SIEMENS AG 10 Nov 1971 [12 Nov 1970] 52298/71 Heading H1N A circuit-breaker with electromagnetic and thermal tripping means has a combined adjusting device by which the means can have their tripping levels adjusted independently. As shown, the adjusting device comprises a screw 9 extending through a screwed aperture in a fixed bracket 24, rotation of the screw altering the pressure applied by a spring 25 on the armature of the electromagnetic tripping means. The thermal tripping device is a bimetallic element 14 mounted on a resilient member 23 attached to the bracket 24. A nut 10 on the screw 9 may be turned on the screw to alter the position of the bi-metallic element 14 relative to a tripping lever 7. When adjusting either tripping means by turning the screw or nut, the other component (nut or screw) of the adjusting device would be held stationary.
